The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo

Do you have Stuff? Lots of Stuff? STUFF EVERYWHERE?

May I recommend the #konmari method, named for Slightly Nutty Magical Japanese Tidying Elf/Consultant Marie Kondo?

Seriously: come for the decluttering advice, stay for the hilarious/slightly sad stories about her tidying obsession as a child (and grown-up).

May also contain woo.

And if you decide to give it a whirl, do send me pictures. :D

I have recycled books before. Not ones that were mine, usually, as I don't hate them, but when reorganising stuff at various jobs I've had, I've found books with pages missing or dodgy-looking stains or other joyously NOPE things. :) Single colour T-shirts...ebay? I mean, if you were a dude it would be much easier, but I have a thing about wearing T-shirts with writing on them (not a fan, usually) and I can find plain Ts reasonably easily. Though admittedly I haven't tried in Germany, just the UK. And I've probably never tried in your part of the world!

Heehee, "slightly woo" is a wonderful phrase. My first thought towards the beginning of this video was "Imagine having enough tops to throw some away". Whenever I gather mine into a pile it's because I'm trying to discover if I yet own one intact T-shirt that I can wear to dinner with my grandmother. I understand the consumerist pack rat thing but I think there's an even darker side. There is no joy in replacing any of this clothing because I know the hunt for single color T-shirts without adverts that will fit me will probably be impossible. I could probably stand to get rid of some of the books I hate. But that would require finding someone else willing to take them and usually when I hate a book it's for a good reason. I suppose they shall have to stay here forever, and me with them.

I already know it wouldn't work for me - It concentrates all the bits I find stressful about tidying up in general into one great big pile of stress in order to tidy up general possessions. And... Wouldn't reduce the stress of the general tidying up part. Too many decisions in too short a space of time.
