Netflix Responds: Of CORSET Matters!

Well well! Netflix and the BBC did respond to The Sun's 'banning all corsets' article! Unfortunately they waited until after I'd put up my video, but here we are. (Hey Netflix: you could still have a go at the whole 'clothes that fit' thing, nobody would mind!)

Hope you enjoy this update to the story, and I'll see you on Monday for, you know, more normal fare.

Netflix Responds: Of CORSET Matters!

Comments

As an ace person, I can confirm (ok, he's maybe not quite at that level for me (there are a few guys above him-hi Sebastian Stan) but he is very aesthetically pleasing and nice to look at (though he does look even better as Geralt))

From decades of experience ties are fine if the neck collar is fine. If the neck collar isn't right even no tie is uncomfortable. I even see many formal shirts are fitted to be only comfortable with the top button undone. So same as corsets with too tight dresses really.

Fenrir Wolfganger

the actor in the thumbnail looks like a thinner version of my former boss. I miss her

Hollywood is a bit out of touch if they think that a movie will fall flat if Henry Cavill isn't dehydrated for a shirtless scene. Henry Cavil. Henry. Cavil. The man is so handsome that he's not even my type and can just over power that through pure god like appeal. I've literally head Asexual people say "But Henry Cavil though". let people be comfortable damn it, it's not going to suddenly lose your audience through lack of thirst factor

Surely general women's fashion would not be totally uncomfortable or women wouldn't wear them. I hate ties, but they don't actually harm. The pursuit of daft beauty tropes in the media is the issue that you correctly show.

Thank you! I stole it from a commenter on yesterday's video :D

Someone suggested it in the comments yesterday and I Could Not Resist.

That title!

Corsets should fit. Armor should fit. I’m here for this kind of content.

I'm Swedish, but I can think of some equivalents.

Trying to think of a way of responding to that that isn't potentially libelous (which allegedly isn't something the sun would worry as much about). The Sun is better known for the topless models on page 3 than for its integrity in reporting. I believe I read somewhere that it has a target reading age comprehension of 15. That's not to say it's aimed at 15 year olds but at adults with a reading comprehension of the average 15 year old. (They don't use the big words in case they loose their audience).

Ekij

It's a red-top tabloid. For US folk, I think a rough equivalent would be the New York Post.

Dave Sheddi

I have the sense that the Sun is not entirely trustworthy newspaper. Is that correct?

Anders

I feel like having more realistic people on screen just in general would make things a lot better for everyone. Also, wearing clothes that fit is just... a thing I think should happen for everyone, just generally. For God's sake, they have these huge budgets, can't they at least use them for something productive?

BTW, A+ Pun in the title

Kalcheus

You aren’t the only one. Abby Cox and Nicole Rudolph also did a video on it. I haven’t watched it yet, but I expect it’s something similar to your video.

Kimberly Slosson

Jill getting in on reporting breaking news with her more streamlined style, whilst other costubers are still in makeup.
