Corset vs Knife: The Reckoning
Added 2021-06-19 10:01:44 +0000 UTCWell, I was very much not convinced by the slash attack that took place in The Nevers episode 1, where a possibly supernatural chap slashed through a shirt, a corset and an under layer to make a neat slice in the torso skin of the main character.
So I got a fight choreographer (and karate instructor and Army Reserve officer) to try it out, with a little help from Kiss Me Deadly, who very kindly made me a fake corset patch to test out.

Just seen the video, very nice. Although I was slightly concerned by the attempts to stab using a sharp knife without even a little hilt. If you're stabbing really hard, and the knife gets caught on something - as you were hoping it would, but there's always the possibility of hitting a rib - there's the risk of your grip slipping and your hand sliding down the handle and then down the blade. Which won't work out well for your hand. Be careful!
