The Fantasy Heroine vs. The Writer (Complete Series 1)

Friends, I hope your day is going well, and I am delighted to present you with the complete Series 1 (as it were, I'm still basically making this up as I go) of The Fantasy Heroine vs. The Writer. I hope you enjoy episode 11, which I don't think you've seen before, and/or all the shorts in order if you've only seen a few.

Coming up in October: I fail hilariously at guessing what's happening in Magic: the Gathering (hope you like long videos...) and probably some armour reviews too!

Your author voice makes me think of Mary Poppins, which somehow seems fitting

Jessica Grimwood

Man I can just imagine people reading this book on the beach in the middle of summer and longing for some excitement in their life.

Edward Franklin Woods

I have to say I am very invested.

These shorts have been fantastic! I giggle every time I watch one. Thank you!

Jerry

Honestly, these are just fantastic and are giving me so much excitement for NaNo this year! One of my writing groups is already talking about their prep and I'm over here going, "What even is plot?" Now I have Caroline & Rosamund as inspiration for just going for it!!

Marisha Goyette

Seeing the first episode again reminds me: magic powers?

The ✨aesthetic✨ is all, Rosamund!

Jill Bearup

I was thinking more "No Rosamund, you cannot have zips on your clothes! I know that this is an entirely fictional setting with made-up rules but such anachronisms would ruin the rustic aesthetic! My word! Next thing you know you'll be demanding wellies and a microfibre towel!"

Mark Townsend

Is it bad that all I can hear is Rosamund yelling, “Caroline, no sensible woman would wear a back-lacing bodice on a multi-day trip with NO SERVANTS, what is WRONG WITH YOU?” 😂

Jill Bearup

"She felt his hand slipping down her spine. Firm yet gentle, causal yet purposeful. It found the lace knot of her bodice. She wanted to cry out for him to stop yet deeply desired him to keep going. She felt the lace knot starting to slip open and burried her face into his shoulder. She wanted to whimper but feared he'd misunderstand. This was all a misunderstanding, but a _wonderful_ misunderstanding. " I feel this is the story Caroline wants to tell.

Ekij

I love the outfits. The perfect straight lines of the writer’s clothes works perfectly.

Alex Taylor

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jill Bearup

Yes, she's more focussed on his getting a grip on Rosamund.

Mark Townsend

The poor sod is currently having a character crisis which is all Caroline’s fault, because she hasn’t really got a grip on his personality… 😂

Jill Bearup

Thank you 🙂

Jill Bearup

These are wonderful! I wonder how long it'll be before we find out about Captain Collins' late wife, tragically killed a few years ago while carrying their unborn child. Thus explaining his surly disposition and grim demeanour.

Mark Townsend

You can reconstruct my notes if you want to, it’s just a bit like someone is reading over my shoulder (albeit someone who can only read about half my handwriting 😁)

Jill Bearup

I love these in any form, shorts or concatenated.

Tom Carlson

Of the bandits: one by Leo, two by Rosamund, one is in a quantum superposition between dead and fled-and-awaiting-vengeful-role-in-future-plot. It's midnight here, and I just tried to reconstruct my reasoning for Caroline's count and failed, so I will gracefully concede -1 lives saved in terms of husbands. If it turns out in season four that the HCBF offed the husband instead of Caroline, totals will be adjusted. Wars will not be accounted for, because I can't get an accurate count without mentally simulating Jill's notes, and I have been instructed IN ALL CAPS not to do that anymore. (: Thank you for your corrections, and goodniZZZZZ

Aguido Horatio Davis

Ekij: VERY good!

Ann Brookens

Caroline: -2? Husband (1), Bandits (3 possibly 4) and untold numbers in the war that she started just for a spot of 'world building'! (or is that 'world destruction' ... 'world ... flavour?')

Ekij

LOL!

Ann Brookens

HCBF will not be showing up for a while but when he does we shall see what happens!

Jill Bearup

Leaderboard of lives saved after season 1. Rosamund: 1 saved, two killed. Leo: 2 saved, one killed. Unnamed Hot Childhood (Best) Friend: 0. Caroline: none saved, one killed. (Making someone a cup of tea after their nightmare is life-saving but does not technically count as a life saved.)
