I have ordered a new one, which should be with me on Monday, but my audio engineer and I have spent the last week going “what is wrong with the settings that everything I record sounds totally different now????!?!?!!!!1eleven?!”
On the plus side, though unrelated, all the lights in my house are now working again! I can turn on the kitchen lights at night, hooray!
$5+ patrons, I have a wedding next weekend so I will see you for a livestream on the 21st September. I hope the mic will be working by then and that I will have good audiobook news.
In the meantime, please join me in spirit for a chorus of repressed screaming at technology, if you feel so inclined. Or pray for me. Or both.
Still, when the audio issues are all sorted and I am shouting about Quickbooks and taxes in a couple of months, at least I will be able to think to myself: yes, but at least it’s not AUDIOBOOK PRODUCTION, so it could be worse.
Hope you’re all well. I am working on Pride and Prejudice/Caroline Bingley, but basically my entire working week has been sucked up by technological troubleshooting, so basically nothing useful has actually been accomplished.

2024-09-08 20:49:58 +0000 UTCI offer my sympathy. I, too, have been having “fun” with technology. My video editing software is amazing—until the audio starts cutting in and out. Argh! Sooo frustrating! I hope your tech issues sort out quickly.
