A Tale of Two Rulers 155

Thank you so much for supporting my work! It's because of you that I'm able to focus on this project instead of having to do a bunch of other stuff to support myself!

Why does in that light on second bottom pic zelda dosent seem to have the scar on her cheek

I dunno, I can swallow a lot of things about this story, but this one seems pretty...far fetched even for this premise. Zelda is fully aware of this cycle, that they're all trapped in it and reincarnated, that the triforce pieces are each tied to them, etc. Why would she disbelieve the goddesses' existences and even her own origins? I'm all for her being cynical on some levels but this seems a little too much.

Funny thing is Zelda is the mortal reincarnation of the goddess Hylia. As she regains her memories she might remember that or Ganondorf will just get frustrated and tell her. Ganondorf on the otherhand is the reincarnating hatred Demise unleashed on the world as a final curse and might have some of Demise's memories. Ghirahim remembers Demise and Demise is partially sealed within the Master Sword. Hope he does not wake up and get out.

I love this page! So much conflict and I love this agonistic Zelda. She definitely has a point cause this is how our world worked until modern science came along. Sun traveling across the sky-gods do it. Seasons changing-gods do it. And in fantasy games, gods and spirits just seem to run rampant, either helping or inhibiting a heroes journey. It's refreshing to see a person in a fantasy world to question the existence of the goddesses, especially since they haven't been seen in game as real characters. They were in Ocarina of Time as world creation story at the start of the game, leaving behind the world and Tri-force, and there are plenty of statues of them in lots of games, but they have never shown up as characters, no dialogue, no great journey helping, no character, just nada. So it makes sense for a person to question whether or not they are real, or even care about the world that they clearly left behind. And if I remember correctly, it's more like Demise's curse about him wanting to hunt down and kill the incarnation of the Goddess and the Hero back in Skyward Sword in vengence is the reason these three characters keep coming back.

That's a good way to look at it. I'm eager to see what Lor has in store.

Yes! Like, it is so tired seeing her portrayed as some mindless drone of 'save me and meet your destiny, im a beacon of faith and purity' kinda thing. I love this rough, flawed, 'logical' thinking Zelda who is just skeptical as hell and not afraid to say it ^.^

It especially fits in with recent takes on Zelda in lbw and of course Botw where her wisdom is played up more than her goddess abilities and belief in the goddesses.

That black guy

Well her thing is wisdom and she has grown up around Sheikah and their technology, I'd not expect her to be so skeptical for the goddesses but she is being played up real enough like someone who doesn't believe the gods are Gods. Hell I'd not be surprised (haven't seen anything lor is doing) if she thought they were ancient extraterrestrial beings who had the power that our primative brains understand only as magic and power of Gods.

That black guy

Listen to the wizard who has been around for thousands of years and knows the power of magic and technology, not saying he can't be wrong but this is one of those things where he's right.

That black guy

More like a realist.

Erika

Exactly how I would imagine the wielder of the triforce of wisdom to act. She's a thinker.

Ugh this webcomic is so perfect! Zelda's character fits so well in this universe, I can feel it in my stomach.

I. Fucking. Love. This. Like....Agnostic Zelda fits SO PERFECTLY in this universe you've created too. After all she's been through in her life, along with how she deals with things, it's freaking perfect. And like, just to me, I love the idea of a character who so often channels the light of the goddesses in lore being unconvinced that they're actually real. This freaking makes me so happy.

Damn it, Zelda.. I'm surprised you're writing her this way, but that doesn't mean I hate it. You write these characters in ways I never thought of. I love this comic.
