Flaws are define a character and give them a weakness to overcome and protagonists to exploit. Eric said the Kendall liked to gamble. I turned that into a gambling problem. This give him motivation in the need for more and more money. However, Eric had already established that Kendall thinks he's a player while he's really just being manipulated. People relate to flaws. Nobody likes a character who's too perfect and can do anything. That's why people like Batman and nobody likes Superman.
