Thanks Fro! Honestly, a big part of it is finding good references and lots of tweaking and redrawing things to emphasize or exaggerate certain parts during the rough sketch phase. Typically, I just focus on arranging the larger shapes, like Zelda and Link's torso, legs and head. After that, I'll add bits like hand (or foot) contact to spice it up a bit. So there's a bit of trial and error involved.
