Cursed Princess Club vol. 1 cover reveal, interview, pre-order, etc., etc.!

Hello!!! And long time no see again!!

Before anything else, I wanted to say thank you yet again for just always being the kindest, most patient and supportive people for my long absence when I last wrote about pausing my patreon 💖 Many of you even wrote that you did not want it paused even though I wasn’t giving anything, and all I can say is you are all too kind!! 😭😭😭 It is paused again for this month, but I will unpause it starting next month (July).

...The reason is that I was given the okay to begin talking about the book and everything I’ve been doing!! woo hoo!!! Comicsbeat did an exclusive article with a cover reveal + interview + previews of five interior pages if you would like to take a look!

There is also a pre-order available at Amazon (we are somehow #1 best-seller in YA manga, very very momentarily, which is nuts…!!! O_O). But I do think it will be available at other sites eventually (I’ll try to update when that happens).

For you all here, though, I wanted to begin to give you all some hi-res images of some stuff from the book, as I think I’m allowed to now…..! So to start things off, I thought I’d walk you through the process of making the cover for volume 1!

When I first got to meet with Bobbie Chase, executive editor at Webtoon Unscrolled, we discussed some cover ideas both of us had, and ultimately decided on a concept of the princesses + the Pastel Palace, with a mockup using art from the webtoon (without sharing confidential documents, it looked pretty much like this w/ a title mockup). I think staring at this image was the moment I realized, “My original art should not be sold to innocent people at bookstores" and I decided I had redraw a lot of this 1st book.

So after looking at a lot of manhwa covers for inspiration...

...two rough concepts were made.

We chose one, and with the great help of Shei (she REALLY made their outfits pop off!), cover assets were made!

The final version of the cover was compiled by a designer, Josh, with all the text, etc., but if you'd like some hi-res images of some of the assets, they are available to download below!

That will be it for now, but I’m excited to drop in some more wallpaper images over the next month!
