Non-theme poll: Quests or Items?

Howdy! I wanted to get a sense of what folks are wanting to see more of next. Since expansions are 9 cards, there's always been a 5 Quest / 4 Item card split. What do folks want to see more of for the game?

Walmart sells a clear plastic crayon box that is great size for pnp card games. The also have a clear plastic pencil box that holds two decks. I make a card stock divider for it. I post pictures when I am home from work.

I've started to float the idea for myself that once I hit, say, 100 cards that I would consider doing a physical run. This would then include things people would expect, a box and whatnot. Still just a thought. Like you said would have to measure demand.

On the deck box topic, it might be nice to have that for people who want to print out one, but I'm not sure if there's a single best option given all the different ways people might be making their cards. And it might have to be huge if this game keeps growing. :D Honestly, what I'd really like to see is a physical product release -- PNP is good, but I can't make anything near as good as professionals can, so I generally prefer printed products. With the plan for new content monthly, it might not be a simple matter to put together a physical product, but perhaps at some point it would be worth looking into if there's enough demand.

Awesome! I don't know I'm any good at packaging but I'm good at making things to suit a purpose. Seriously, a lot of heavy card and various types of sticky tape. Cheap and easy for multiple version :) I'll start with a simple tuck box so everything stays together while I try not to tape my fingers together ;)

I'd be thrilled to see mockups! I'm wanting to keep this game as open as possible for the gaming community. So keep that passion flowing in and we can continue to grow! Can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm particularly bad with package design!

Alexander

yeah, i was thinking a larger number of cards than just the base set. I do like the idea of a To-Go Box. Would you be offended if I mocked up some of the ideas you've just given me? LOL I am putting my cards in sleeves because I don't trust myself or my dogs not to make a mess of them. Might buy some clear duct tape and see if that would work actually.

I'll secretly let you know that I was putting together a small kit that housed around 20 cards and allowed for the dice and cubes. I was going to call it the Quests Over Coffee - To Go box. I'm not sure how everyone is printing their cards, so sleeved cards don't work nearly as well. This, however, only solves for a single play and not the whole QoC collection (which is what you're asking about?).

Something that held everything would probably be best but I’m not sure if cardboard would be the best material unless it was a sectioned box as opposed to just a tall box. Loose items can weaken it if they move around a lot. I’m making my own deck of cross-stitched playing cards atm so this sort of thing is floating in my head already (there’s a lot of cardboard and duct tape scraps mixed in with my thread scraps in my workspace atm). I think mostly I’m personally wanting something to keep the cards together, maybe with a separate divider or two to keep everything neat.

Charlotte Heilling

I haven't thought about that. What kind of features would you want in that design? Just to hold cards? Hold the cubes and dice too?

Alexander

I love this game! I want more quest and items!!

I’ll be starting my adventures tomorrow but was wondering if you’d considered doing a deck box?

Charlotte Heilling

From my plays, I typically see more quests than items, so I feel like having more quests would likely increase variety more.
