I shot for getting this done tonight, but I wound up not. Got distracted earlier in the week working on some commission stuff I'm behind on. The plan was for me to get up and go to the cafe/bodega at my apartment and spend all day working on it as I had today off from work! Instead I slept/laid in bed all day until about 7pm, outside of a three hour window around noon where I made myself some food. So for now here's just the colored character artwork.

My apartment started an art club that had its first meeting tonight. Somehow I managed to convince myself to go and be sociable instead of taking a nap when I come home from work like I usually do. I wasn’t sure what to expect so I brought the ol ipad to do comic work on the off chance it was this small thing where everyone sorta did their own thing. When reading the description there wasn’t much in the way of specifics, being this sort of catch all for any sort of art.

Anyway I managed to be sociable and talked to people! Fucking crazy, right? It helped that I had a frozen margarita beforehand to loosen me up. I met someone there who also brought up a doodle club called the DFW DoodleClub that meets up once a week and are having a gallery at the Dallas Museum of Arts starting on October 12th. I figure I’ll check out the gallery first before just walking up to the regular gatherings like some random stranger going “y’all like 90s Japanese cartoons?”

Anyway I’m currently dealing with imposter syndrome and all that after coming back from the club, so I’m gonna go to the store and buy myself a treat as a reward for getting out there and meeting people. Laters!
