The Jade Goody doll at the start which was talking trashy and swearing - Jade Goody was a nobody who went on Big Brother. She got popular from it for being a loud mouth commoner and a few years later entered Celebrity Big Brother. One of the other contestants was one of the most famous Bollywood actresses, Shilpa Shetty. For some reason Jade Goody didn't get on with her and regularly abused her with racist abuse (referenced in the dolls racist catchphrases). To say that the people of India were outraged was an understatement. It ruined Jade's 15 minutes of fame. Then she got cancer and documented it for a reality show , trying to also save her credibility. She died not long after it

I rewound for you, and can confirm... yep... muffin gone. After your little trip to the moon (bet you don't remember that bit), I'd love to see you do a word association test. I think that would be fascinating. So now the extras. I believe I've already said most of this, but I shall do it again, if only to save you having to go through a back catalogue of comments to find it again. I can't speak to how these things work in Argentinian Land, but I will assume it's at least similar. To get into Extra work, you need to sign up with a talent agent (a bit like Darren in Extras, or Estelle in Friends) but hopefully someone competent, and with connections. If something is being filmed, the casting director will contact their favourite agency in the area (it's good to sign up with more than one agency for this reason) and let them know what sort of extras they need, and the agent, or someone working for them, will pick out a selection of potential extras that they think will be suitable, and the casting director will make the final decisions about who will be cast as what. I got to be a track medic in one show. I was so convincing that the other extras where constantly coming up to me asking if i was the crew medic! There are potentially other ways you may get a gig, but they are very rare, freak occurrences. I've done 2 gigs and called up for a couple more but had to decline them. A lot of extras are just actors trying to get into the business and build up a portfolio and make contacts, but others are more casual and looking for a fun experience and make a bit of extra cash. Personally I absolutely loved both experiences. It's so fascinating seeing how it all happens behind the scenes and then what ends up on the screen. I would recommend anyone who enjoys screen art, to at least give it a go once. Also, never pay an agent! They should be paying you. If you have access to 'The Tourist', a 10 episode, limited series with Jamie Dornan (the 50 shades of grey guy), I am in the first episode in a 'weightwatchers' scene (not actually weightwatchers, but a fictitious knockoff) and I'm sitting next the lead actor in the scene (Danielle MacDonald) the scene lasts for about a minute or two, but I was on set for 10hrs or more, and the filming of the scene lasted about 5hrs. It was only 1 camera so they shot the same scene about 5-6 times from different angles. So much stuff got left out. The lighting was one of the most interesting aspects to me with all the crazy rigs and contractions they use. You should definitely try to find an agency near you, might be good for the singing career too! 🤷‍♂️ So lastly before signing out, it's important to know that if nothing else, there most definitely IS a point. And now I'm just ITCHY with excitement for part 2! Huzzah! Oh yeah, check out George Michael, 'Faith' or 'Don't let the sun go down on me', the one he did with Elton John.

Many critics of Rickys who only considered him a comedian/comedic actor were were definitely silenced when this special came out proving he could play a dramatic and serious actor, you will see more of Ricky's dramatic/serious side in Derek and After Life which are hilarious but sad aswell. Also don't know if any has mentioned but Karl is in Derek as the character Dougie.

The guy on the park bench at just after the 17 minute mark was the late great George Michael. He was a massive superstar playing to sold out stadiums all over the world and sold well over a hundred million albums. He started his career in a pop duo called 'WHAM' who also had massive sucsess.

I'm also not one to act coy and pretend it wasn't a proud moment when I did achieve first comment, that's not my style. Doctor Who is a huge part of British culture and very popular, but anyone can get on the show and the parts can be kind of cheesy. Andy is trying to be above that level. I loved watching this show again, the end always brings a tear to my eye in a really sweet way ☺️

I agree with this statement. dinnerladies (it has a little 'd', the best kind of 'd') is rather good. I don't have a problem with catchphrase based comedy. I also enjoyed Al Murray's Time Gentleman Please and that had about 500 episodes and every one was pretty much the same. Each character said their catchphrase, the end. It was somehow good though.

Extras get work the same as actors by audition, some have agents, some are struggling actors themselves trying to break into the business (hence this show based on that,) but sometimes the casting directors or director just see people on the street who they think look the part for whatever movie/show they are working on at the time. Sometimes fans get picked to be extras whenever they go to watch the filming of a movie/show that's being filmed in public on location.

Fun behind the scenes fact: On the dvd commentary of this special Ricky revealed that he wasn't actually wearing the girdle when it popped in the audition scene, he was just sucking his stomach in and then let it "loose" again to give the effect that the girdle had popped. The sound effect was added. lol That's why I love commentaries on dvds for behind the scenes knowledge like that.

You'll be seeing a lot of Kerry Godliman (the woman stopping Maggie from having any food before the other actors) in the next series of Taskmaster, she also stars alongside Ricky in his other show Derek and has appearances playing his wife in his other other show After Life. Both fantastic future shows for you to react to.

I know I always say you should watch things until the end but this is an extreme case. I haven't watched the video yet but I can see the duration and it seems you got bored after just under an hour. Oh well, if it wasn't your thing, it wasn't your thing. You gave it a fair chance by watching both series and most of the special. That's all anyone can ask of you, and that's certainly enough time to know if you like something or not. You obviously didn't get on with Extras. It's a shame but it is what it is.
