2023-06-27 02:58:50 +0000 UTCHiya Mandy! 1st time watching this too Your first episode was with Kathy Burke who does look quite similar to Jo Brand 🤭 Yeah, you hadn’t a clue who she was, so no context there :) In her defence, she’s played some iconic comedic roles, a real character actress, but was a bit dull in her episode. 2:52 Noel “looks like Lord Farquaad” - Absolutely brilliant! I can’t un-see it now 🤣 A happier, smiley version 😄 It looked like the walking intro was a montage filmed in every location of the series. I distinctly recognise that bridge in Venice, where he’s walking across funnily, and some of the architectural domes on the buildings look Russian (aha! Greg Davies, spotted in the montage, went to Russia with Richard, Jo Brand went to Venice). Noel inhaling that schnapps saying “it’s like castrol gtx”, it’s a brand of engine oil, so powerful fumes! That third oldest rollercoaster looks about as dangerous as a fairground carousel 😄 A log flume near my home town was really old, circa 1932, had a wooden structure, and had several fatalities before it was eventually shut down in the 90s after literally decades of use. Apart from that, it was a fun ride! Like Fear Factor, we’re treated annually to the raw testicle bollocks eating experience on the popular TV show “I’m a Celebrity, (get me out of here!)” for those who care to tune in. I won’t be surprised if there’s a show on in 30 or so years time catering to the same spectacle 😁 We do have scentography, which deconstructs an odour composition into its constituent parts, a bit like mass spectroscopy, but it’s not quite a realtime recording for playback yet 😁. Imagine, you’d probably have to watch TV wearing a gas mask. Ok, so I RTFA, and I can now set the record straight on the Band-ski (🎸⛷️), The town council put a preservation order on the work, charging the owners £40,000 a year to maintain it, so “the couple hired a 40-foot crane to haul off the 50,000-pound wall—art and all—costing them £200,000 ($246,300).” So they didn’t just spend $250,000 to “paint over it” 🤣 39:31 Yes Mandy, travelling *is* funner with people 👍 Much better than travelling alone 😜 40:33 Ooh, this is an Oscar Wiled quote: “Everything in moderation, including moderation” never knew there was a 2nd part to this quote, so I guess Oscar Wilde agrees with you Mandy, “too much of a good thing, can be wonderful” or to rephrase Wilde’s quote “Screw moderation! It is true that places such as Denmark, Norway and Finland are always trading places for 'Happiest place in the world'. It's just where the people are happiest and I guess that comes from their Governments treating them right. I think it could live in those places despite that it's a little colder. It certainly isn't stopping the people's happiness. Those open sandwiches look great as were the Danish pastries. Copenhagen (which I think the 'a' is pronounced like the 'ah') is 16hrs 20mins drive from my front door. Maybe I'll get adventurous one say but I want to visit Bruge first, in Belgium. Richard isn't always my cup of tea but Noel is quirky so the episode was enjoyable and you certainly added to that. Karl and Warwick will be a whole different deal :)

They have a surprisingly great chemistry with each other considering Rudd is a big Hollywood actor who hadn't ever met RIchard before. The full 24 minute episode is on Youtube as well as in the comments of that video is a pinned comment with a link to additional 18 minutes of bloopers/deleted scenes with Paul and Richard. You can change your schedule at any point if there's something you don't feel like doing, whereas if you're in a group, you have to make some compromise and spend time doing stuff together you might not really have wanted to do. As a Dane this episode was really interesting to me and it's always fun to hear people attempt to pronounce some of our Danish words. :D
