Everytime I hear they made an American remake they are all awful. Except The Office, they made it their own and it was awesome ๐คฃ

Daisy May is an incredible clown. She has me on the floor laughing from just her facial expressions alone in this. There is also an American remake (Welcome to Flatch) which wasn't nearly as good and I believe was just cancelled.

The fella who you said looks like Gareth/Mackenzie Crook from The Office (a common comparison btw lol) is actually Daisyโs bro in real life, and Daisy and him wrote it all themselves. Itโs based on their own experiences growing up in a small village in SW England. Canโt recommend this enoughโฆ

I was wondering if I went to South America how easy it would be to chat with the locals as I don't really know any Spanish at all. I feel like Argentina will be similar to my trip to Nepal. Weirdly I never felt out of place even Ealing around Kathmandu. I'm of to Switzerland for a little solo holiday on the 8th. I'm going to the comic con there too since it's on. They mostly speak french and German there and my french is pretty good so I should manage. ๐ One day you'll be there too Mandy. ๐ค

Possibly three: it was on very late so it may have been the same episode 3 times depending on my blood-alcohol level at the time) but stopped watching it.

2024-05-04 15:25:55 +0000 UTCThis Country is superb and I'd recommend reacting to it all from the beginning, Mandy! I grew up in the area in which it was filmed (a village in the Cotswolds), one of the cast I knew fairly well (more of an acquaintance than a friend) and I have met Daisy and Charlie who wrote the show (and star in it). It's very true to life, painfully real at times, definitely takes inspiration from The Office, even down to Charlie looking eerily similar to Mackenzie Crook who played Gareth! Haha! A lot younger though as This Country is a much more recent show. You won't regret it if at some point you add this as a new show, Mandy! ๐๐
