Vault - Something /Really/ Soft
Added 2015-09-15 02:48:44 +0000 UTCSoooo, a long time ago during a stream some friends *cough*Gent*cough*Kit*cough* convinced me to draw Takai with more going on up top than usual, andIWantedToDrawItToo.
The other day after moving over to my new tablet, I found the old colored lineart and figured I would see if the new tablet could handle soft shading, which is something my old tablet just couldn't abide (it would lag and freeze when using a lot of the airbrush/watercolor brushes). I think it turned out pretty good for my first soft-shaded piece in a really long time! What do you guys think? Would you rather I just stick to cel-shaded, or is this something you'd like to see more of?

The shading here is gorgeous though you've experimented with lots of things since I first found you and honestly its always looked good. Any chance for a full body version? Looking like you've gone against your one body type rule :D

I'm going to keep experimenting with the available tools (much better than they were back then) but I'm thinking it might be fun to get more into this (note: The comic will definitely be keeping the cel-shaded style!) ^__^

2015-09-15 02:56:14 +0000 UTCsubject matter aside (THE BEST) your shading is super on point, particularly for your first go. i enjoy your cel-style stuff too (especially for comics) but i think the soft shading suits pics like this really well.
