I'm wanting to get into programming. Game design specifically. I'm also a beginner artist and animator.

The only problem with raffles is that Patreon prohibits them - because people would be paying to become patrons, and because it's a chance, it can fall under gambling law, so they don't allow them on the site. However, I was thinking about doing some raffles on Picarto, so we could always set up a Patron-only stream that just happens to be a request stream. :)

i have no complaints. I say a suggestion for a monthly or bimonthly raffle for higer tierd patrons but I know you time it limited already.

I'm happy to give you feedback anytime, Chibi! Glad that you found some of my ideas useful. Totally understand about the comic thing. Since time is such a big constant for you, how about you combine wanting to sketch and wanting to do comics together? Just doing simple B&W sketch comics could be fun. As to the feedback based comics, one of the other artists I support on here does comics using a system where they post a simple (no background, no shading) image as part of a sequence and then has a poll of like 5-6 options for people to vote on to chose the direction of the next image in the sequence. They usually space this out with 1 image per week, so it gives them enough time to respond. Since you already do a poll-based thing, maybe this wouldn't be the best way to go about it for you, but it might give you some ideas. In terms of NSFW stuff, while it would be "nice" to see some topless stuff (like I said, I totally respect that you guys don't want to do full nudity or anything beyond that), honestly I would just like to see some more really smexy stuff. When I said 'Takei's centerfolds' before, it literally could be that, no more exposure than a centerfold shot from Sports Illustrated. After all, it does seem a shame for Takei to have legs that long and not get to really show them off from time to time. :D

Thank you for all the feedback! 1) I agree with you - I need to take more time to just *sketch*. Besides it being something that people enjoy, it's my favorite stage of drawing, I need to do more just for my own good. 2) I'd like to do more of those, too! It's a little tricky because they take so long, and I haven't quite figured out how to *learn* to animate. I have a couple of books I need to read, but I can safely say you will see more animations in the future. 3) So Patreon, due to gambling laws, does not allow raffles on their site. However, your comment did give me an idea, so I will say it is not impossible for Patrons to get some special art in the future! 4) Now we get a little into the trouble area... As much as I enjoy comics, they take a *huge* chunk of time. This is specifically why I was waiting to start learning animation until I was done with various comic projects, because I knew it was going to be a one-or-the-other prospect. I will do more comics eventually, but the cost of doing them is so high, and my time is so strained at the moment, that I don't think it'd be wise to say I'm going to start one up right yet. I do kind of like the idea of a patron-driven comic though, so maybe once things clear up, and I'm no longer doing my second job, I'll be able to experiment with something like this! 5) So, while I'm okay drawing suggestive stuff, I don't really like the idea of drawing nudity. It's just not my thing, and I'd like to keep things at least quasi-SFW. I can't say never, but I can say not in the foreseeable future. :)

So, the big issue with this is how Patreon handles changing reward amounts. Even if you're lowering the reward amounts, it kind of orphans all the people who have that reward, forcing them to manually go and re-select what reward they want. *It's essentially like deleting them all and creating a new one*... I would be more interested in trying to find more rewards to make those tiers more valuable, than to go through that mess. I could think about setting up a Discord channel, I'm just concerned that if I'm not available on it 24/7, people will think it's a pretty bum reward. Someone else mentioned something that did give me an idea to make things a little more interesting, though, so let me ruminate on that a bit. :D

I'm pretty content with what we've got now. Now I'm not very business savvy, so take my idea with a grain of salt. Maybe change the $1/5/10 tiers to $1/3/5 respectively? If not, maybe create a Discord server or something for your $1 or even $5 patrons? I forgot if you've already commented on this idea. Again, I'm probably just spewing nonsense. :P

You've been doing absolutely awesome, and I'm so happy that I found a way to support my favorite artists. With that being said, I second the more animations because those add a whole nother visual level to growth and expansion

I think you are doing a bang up job, Chibi. You post work with good regularity, the polls are always fun and a offer a nice set of ideas to choose from and you always deliver on them in the end. The only suggestions I can think of are: 1) posting more sketches accessible for all tiers: 2) more animations, if feasible; 3) annual or biannual raffle for a commission piece for patrons; 4) more focus on sequential comics, maybe shoot for one image a month, with open feedback to patrons as to where the comic goes. I am also waiting, oh so patiently, for a PG-13 image with a top-less Takei (frankly, you guys are just too pure for a R-rated one), but I am a dirty, dirty boy. Maybe once in a blue moon you could do a 'Takei's centerfolds" feature or something as a special poll option.
