Announcement for the Future of Patreon

TL;DR - I will be taking March off from Patreon to reconsider its role in my art.

I have been taking some time to consider some things lately about my future as an artist and a person, and my creative activity in general this last year. I took some time in October to ruminate on things, and after rolling into the new year, it's leading me to evaluate my priorities.

Patreon has been a good project for me, a fun experiment. But recently I've become more aware of the limitations it's put on me as an artist, and some of the larger projects I've been interested in pursuing, I've been putting on indefinite hold simply because I feel like my time is already spoken for. Things like larger comics, animations, website projects, learning Blender3D and game projects all come to mind.

The immediate action I'm taking is to take March off to think about things. In April, Patreon will either come back with modified reward tiers that give me more freedom, or it will be retired completely.

I am still working on this month's Patron's Choice, and will hopefully get to stream some this weekend! Hopefully I'll see you guys then!

I really love your art, and you inspired me to to learn to draw myself. I don't expect you to do more than you're already doing, and don't think you need to try to make art your job. Just do what you think is best! Nobody knows your situation as well as you do!

Okay. I'm with the above it always nice to see art but you shouldn't think of it as a job. I mean good to take suggestions. But I've always gone by the cred you should draw or do art for yourself first. that just my 2 cents on all of this.

You shouldn't view Patreon as some sort of job or obligation. Most people are here because they want to support you; of course, some expect something in return on a regular basis, but I think they are in the minority. You should do what you want to do without worrying about us and whoever really cares about you as an artist will continue their support regardless.

Personally I think its better that you use the Patreon for something you want to do rather then just the same old thing. That said I'll say your art has improved alot since you started the Patreon and I can't wait to see what you do regardless if you decide to keep this open or not.

That is a big part of this. To explain in greater detail - my typical art process has always been to sketch 10 ideas, pick the one that speaks to me and finish it. Starting with the idea already picked is a completely different approach, and while I really enjoy the challenge it poses, I miss being able to doodle and sketch and invent ideas from scratch.

I would also love to see even more arts coming from yourself alone. Not that the patrons idea's is bad, but it surely gives you limits on what you can actually create yourself!

Thank you - I really appreciate your support and understanding. :)

Do whatever you think is best Chibi. I just want to support you however I can.💜
