2023-04-23 03:07:58 +0000 UTCone more thing to note, remember that Toma, whos not originally from the Yamada clan, became one of their asaemon aka the executioners, so we know that Yamada absorb and adopt the talented kids from the streets and take them into the family dojo so the clan remains strong, this is also a consideration when deciding the rankings, since adopted kids aren't likely to be the head of the clan, which means the original Yamada kids who's born in the family have a better shot in this regard, such as Eizen. From what we've seen, Eizen's a pretty traditional guy who talks all big and stuff like his attitude towards female samurais like Sagiri; a samurai who follows heavily on traditions, sounds like a great option to be the next head of the clan to me. Consider the time this story takes place, no wonder he gets all the support he got.
