Princess Principal, episode 1 part 2!

So here’s the deal with this patron’s Picks: The Place Further patron is having me do half a dozen or so first-episode liveblogs of various shows he likes to see if I find one I want to continue with, with a show he’s picked out for afterwards in case I don’t find any. Princess Principal was the first of these first-episode liveblogs; the second will be School Live, and he hasn’t told me what will come after that yet.

Princess Principal was pretty good, but the first episode didn’t really hook me. The characters are fine, the action is good, and animation is good, but the setting isn’t really my thing and the characters, while fine, didn’t super grab me. I won’t be asking Oro to let me continue with this one, moving on to other shows.

I will say, though, that “Who says I’m joking? I just like to lie” is one of the funniest lines I’ve heard in ages. Bravo on that one.
