The first part of the Awakening audiobook for you, and an update on the Myrtlewood Crones 🧡

Hello lovely ones,

I wanted to share a little update from my world — things have moving fast and there’s a lot to look forward to.

First up, the Awakening the Wild Witch audiobook is coming to life. I’ve officially started recording, and to my relief and surprise, it’s flowing more easily than I expected. I’ll be sharing each part here on Patreon as I go, and you can now listen to the introduction and chapter one — you can download it below!

I haven’t decided yet which tier the full audiobook will be shared with, but for now I wanted to give everyone a chance to listen to the beginning.

The audiobook is an abridged version of the book (the practical parts will be provided in a separate PDF later on). I've read it a bit like a meditation, getting into a magical flow with it, so you can listen and relax. The sound engineer was shocked that I was able to record it with such good flow, taking half the time of a professional voice actor (now that's some kind of magic!)

I have also been working on a course to go deeper into the magic of Awakening the Wild Witch course. There’s still a fair amount of editing and other preparation to do, so it’ll be a little while before it’s ready, but I’m really happy with how it’s shaping up. And while I was in recording mode, I began work on something else too — a quiet little offering that’s still unfolding. I won’t say too much yet, but it’s soft, heartful, and has a thread of self-kindness running through it. I think it’ll be a lovely companion to everything else .

Outside the studio, it’s winter here in New Zealand — the kind of weather that invites thick socks, hot tea, and long stretches of writing. It feels like the right time to return to Myrtlewood and begin work on the next Myrtlewood Crones book. This might be the final one in the series — we’ll see where the story wants to go. These books have always felt deeply seasonal to me, and winter brings the kind of stillness and depth that the Crones speak from - it is a very wintery series! I actually plan to go and stay in the snowy mountains next week to get inspiration while I start the writing process!

I’m also planning to release an omnibus edition of the first three books, and I’ll be including a brand-new bonus story in it. I’d really love to know — are there any characters you’d like to hear more from? Any threads you’ve been hoping I might return to? Feel free to pop your thoughts in the comments. It’s always a joy to hear what’s resonated with you.

One last little update: I’ve just approved the cover designs for the deluxe hardback editions of the Myrtlewood Crones series. They’ll be available to order from my website soon. I’m so looking forward to seeing them out in the world — there’s something about a hardback that just feels so grounding and special. Note that the deluxe versions of my books are only available to order from my website and the bespoke printer is in the UK, the shipping can be expensive, but they are gorgeous!

Thanks, as always, for being here and for supporting my work. It means a great deal to me, and I’m so glad we get to share this space together.

Blessings,
Iris
