Man… that was an emotional rollercoaster, and an epic conclusion to this long arc! I too am a bit surprised that Toffee was defeated so early in the season, but I’m definitely interested to see what’s going to happen with Eclipsa now… and what’s going to happen to Moon. I loved Star’s journey. It was very emotional. The way she started whispering the spell to extract Toffee from Ludo gave me chills, and I loved the entire sequence in the “black lake” (for lack of a better description). Something about the imagery of Star swimming towards that last speck of magic really caught my eye. And I loved the whole scene with Glossaryk. Star finally learned to DIP DOWN! That part was so epic! And seeing her emerge from it, with a brand new wand (which looks awesome BTW) to fix all the magic, and of course blast Toffee into a skeleton, was simply amazing! I can’t wait to see what magic she’s capable of from now on! Also, I have to say… hearing her voice come out of Ludo was really weird. I loved Star & Marco’s reunion. I’m also glad they weren’t separated for the whole season. Their relationship is so cute. I also cracked up when Marco told Moon & Buff Frog to leave the bards in the dungeon, lol. I hope they did eventually free them though. XD Also, I have to say, Marco & Moon’s reactions to losing Star were heartbreaking. Especially Moon’s. Seeing her tear up, then become consumed by rage and try to obliterate Toffee, only for the spell not to work, was sad enough, but then seeing Marco punch Toffee with tears in his eyes… it was too much. I almost teared up myself. And yeah… Toffee is such an asshole, lol. His cold responses to Moon, Marco, and even Ludo, made me want to punch him (and then realize that wouldn’t actually do anything, lol). I actually really liked his expressions when he first came back. It was like even he was taking in the shock of being back. Nice work, animators. Oh, and the animations of his… “lake form”… were really cool too. He was actually kind of scary there. I really liked that Ludo was the one who dealt the finishing blow to Toffee (assuming he IS actually dead this time), since Toffee had been manipulating and tormenting him throughout these last two seasons. I’m really interested to see where Ludo’s “self-discovery” journey will take him now. I wonder if we’ll see some of his adventures in future episodes. Oh, and River becoming the King of Eagles, and saving the levi-patatoed Mewnians was a great moment. Both really funny, and another touching reunion. The show seems to be entering a whole new chapter now. Can’t wait to see what it has to offer! Favourite Quotes: “You what-ta-ta-tae-toe-ta-ta-too?” – Star “Yeah, I know. Ludo levi-tae-ta-to-to-potatoed him.” – Star “Of course I want help! I’ve been talking to my hand!” – Ludo “Eh, Resistance’ll live on without me.” – Marco “Please, just tell me… Did I have any part to play in this?” – Ludo “…No.” – Toffee “Well, if you’re dead, then I’m dead, and if you’re calling me dead, I find it a little insulting, frankly.” – Glossaryk “You think I’m a skimmer, but I… am a dipper.” – Star “Only I know how this all turns out!” – Toffee *Crash!* “Turns out, you dead!” – Ludo

Some stray observations... Calling back to Moon the Undaunted ... now we see that Moon didn't miss. She wanted to defeat Toffee without releasing the Queen of Darkness, but in the end seems to do just that, or so I assume based on the cracking. Lesson to be learned kiddies, don't make deals with evil. The reason why Ludo didn't notice the missing finger is simple and obvious ... he's an idiot. SuperStar asks "where's Toffee," every being in earshot named Toffee wets themselves (except, ironically, the arrogant SOB that should).
