OHMYGOSH I HOPE YOU'RE RIGHT :'''( I can't stand the thought of them not living happily ever after together lol! And (as per usual) you absolutely hit the nail on the head about Marco crushing on Star BEFORE the dance at the BMB.

Sorry, but if I tell you about what actually happened, it's a spoiler, so you'll just have to be tortured about it ;) However, I will say that no, the severing stone theory will not work on Globgor

Ugh, I love/hate this episode so much! It's probably the lowest point for Starco in the entire series and man do they earn it! I think you called it early though, Alycia. The episode opens up on a literal date, as Star and Marco share a lovely midnight snack together, everything about it screams a couple that is completely comfortable with each other as they spend the majority of it talking with through mouths full to bursting with sugary cereal as they just bask in the enjoyment of each other's company. I'm with most of the commenters and Star in believing that it was "Never the Blood Moon Curse." I say that because if we look back at the Blood Moon Ball, we'll see a few telling things about Marco's feelings for Star. He's worried about her attending the event, not trusting Tom's intentions. When she insists on going, he sits in her room waiting for her to come home to make sure she's alright, even though he's grumpy about it and jumped at the chance to intervene once the painting called it the "Moon of Lovers" These are not the acts of a concerned friend, these are the acts of a jealous lover that is concerned about their significant other. This is why we see in the dream/memory or whatever it is that the Severing Stone pulled them into, that the dance proceeded past the point in the Blood Moon Ball where tom interrupted the dance. If that had been the true moment they fell in love, then I believe the stone would have acted then. But instead, it waited as they continued to dance together, finally culminating in their conversation where they finally realize they do love each other, with Star saying "I like this." It is only then that the stone acts and severs this realization. This is why Marco remembers them dancing at the BMB, but not their conversation together where they actually realize their love and have that memory subsequently deleted. They have so much faith that the stone worked, that once it ends and Tom checks with them, I wholly believe that Marco lied to Star, or at the very least did not recognize the strong feelings he was feeling then as love for Star. In my mind, this really only pushes back Starco, as I believe secretly both Marco and Star still harbor those strong feelings for each other, and just need another "A-HA!" moment to realize that they're literally made for each other!
