Great choices! :D I'm very old school so I'd say the one movie takes me out of reality and inserts me into theirs would have to be Pulp Fiction( yeah I know its pretty extreme but I just love Quentin's unique story telling style in this particular film). And the TV shows that I could never get tired of is Martin, Fresh Prince of Bel Air and South Park.

I love media for escapism, but ultimately i feel most connected to media that I can use to enhance my own life. I want to have character development like Zuko, seek adventure like Star, and have an epic romance like from La La Land. I think a lot of times stories, especially the type of idealized stories in cartoons give me hope in this crazy messed up world that I’ll be able to carve out some peace and happiness, and maybe even make a difference. This episode again shows why Mumen Rider is my favorite hero. He stands no chance against even a tiger level monster, but without question or hesitation risks his life to rescue the City A survivors. And he inspires the rank A hero’s to help too. It reminds me that there are heroes in the real world too, and makes me want to be one. Sorry for the cheesy rant lol🧀

Dude 2020 had me revisiting ALL of my favourites lol, needed all the help I could get!😅 also that’s great news mate!✨ I’m sure that’s made the transition a lot smoother having someone familiar there with you! I totally feel you on the "finishing the HP books in a day or 2"! I recently reread the entire series and there is something about that world that sucks me in like no other! I also started playing 'Ocarina of Time' for the first time with my roommate to help cure some lockdown boredom and that's been a great escape for me too!

I've been doing the same! I've been watching my "comfort" shows and movies. The Emperor's New Groove is one of my all-time favorite movies and never fails to make me chuckle. And New Girl tends to be my go- to TV show. I feel like I'm living at the loft with those guys when I watch the show lol. What about you???

Yeah, 2020 especially has been a year of "comfort" shows and movies for me. I ended up rewatching a lot of stuff I've already seen just to feel less anxious about the state of the world lol. And thank you so much for asking!! I'm officially unpacked and I am so, so happy to be where I'm at. I live in a really safe part of town and my roommate is an old friend of mine so it's just good news all around! 💖

I've been meaning to tell you I read the first 3!!! I didn't see my cameo in any of the ones so far (unless I missed something lol!) so I'm thinking maybe chapter 4!? escapism into books, tv, movies, and video games is one of my coping mechanisms. I'm a good bit older than you and probably most other patreons, I grew up in the 80's and 90's before the computer became real big. my options were far more limited, but even in Junior High I was reading adult fiction, not like dirty but made for adults, things like Michael Chreiton, Stephen King, and Dean Koontz, I was always a voracious reader. Like when I read the Harry Potter books, I finished each of them in a day or two, so there went my weekend. lol Of course then again I'm autistic so getting drawn into stories can also be a bit too much of a good thing, so I had to learn how to temper myself as I grew up. And now for something completely different did any one else get Bui from Yu Yu Hakusho vibes from Boros?

Samezees with using Film and Television to escape from reality. Even though there's nothing really good on TV, I still watch old movies and re runs of Tv shows to take myself out of this bizarre world that we're currently living in. Other than the shows you're currently reacting to, which movies or shows do you watch that instantly isolates you from your reality? :)

I really love the last few episodes of season 1. It really adds a better sense of community to the show with so many fighters working with Saitama and Genos for a common cause. I'm pretty sure those other two heroes, Stinger and Lightning Max, were the first two taken out by the Sea King (that Puri-Puri Prisoner came to visit in the hospital). It's nice to have you back!

Could not agree more with what you were saying about escapism! All of my favourite movies and shows are ones that can completely immerse you in the world they’ve created. I actually rely so much on media for comfort, especially nowadays, I don’t know where I’d even be without some of my favourite movies tbh. Like you said truly magical the power a good piece of media has✨ Yeah my biggest fear going into this show was how are they gonna keep this up If he just kills everyone he comes across in one punch! I definitely know what you mean about escapism. After a hard, stressful day at work, just sitting down and watching a fun, cool show/movie to escape from the real world, always feels really good. And this show in particular is a great stress-reliever. Like you said, all of the side characters are a lot of fun. I liked seeing those heroes work together against that monster. And yeah, I hope Fang is OK. He’s one of my favourites. “Dominator of the Universe”. I love that, lol. Not ruler. Not conqueror. Not destroyer. No… He has to be the DOMINATOR. XD Boros wasn’t killed in one punch! Saitama may have finally met his match… As for predictions for the finale… well, I do still have a few recollections from the first time I watched it, so I’ll probably hold off on that.
