I’m glad I’m a fast typer and went to the link as Rick said it. Lol

Dan Harmon (who looks suspiciously like the guy in blue) is a big Joseph Campbell fan and uses Campbell's monomyth wheel in the writers room.

I figured you might get a kick out of this. I've been stuck for a bit fighting a boss in a game. Even though it's not the last boss of the game, it is considered one of the tougher boss fights because it's really cheap and I have lost many times. I was checking out a game guide that made what I had to consider the weirdest advice I would expect, it advised me to raise the difficulty of the game as high as it could go, that actually helped me get further in the fight, past the wave of villains that I kept losing to. In the first 5 waves if any of the enemies run off the entire wave respawns and the fifth wave was what was stopping me/ The 6th wave is what killed me this time, I missed a time I should have healed. The enemy after that self destructs, then you reach the final boss... with his massive 1 hp lol.

This was such a fun episode! I usually watch them first on my own (because I have to see it on Sunday and so impatient to wait), then see your reaction, and after seeing it for myself I was like, "I CANNOT WAIT FOR ALYCIA TO SEE THIS!!" It's one of those episodes you show your friends just to see their reaction. Luckily for us, that's exactly what you do lol. Also, as you correctly mentioned, in the "inside the episode" the writers do say how excited they were to make the episode and loved doing it. You can see them on Adult Swim's YouTube channel. They have one for each episode. https://youtu.be/kXSVpu9NiV0 Lastly, in true meta Rick and Morty fashion, the website that Rock mentioned towards the end is real and so funny, just like the story train website. It just further shows how much the writers enjoyed this whole thing and their attention to detail. https://rick-plush.biz/

Oh, and for your neck I’d say hot shower and bio freeze. I was going to get my certificate in massage therapy, but that got away from me and I’d rather have that be a well earned discovered talent between friends and lovers. Lol

Joseph Campbell was a writer, theologian, and professor of literature at Sarah Lawrence College. He’s the one who wrote “The Hero with a Thousand Faces”. It’s where Campbell created the “Heroes Journey” or as it’s also known as “The Monomyth”. Any writer worth their salt has a copy of that book with plenty of mileage on it somewhere. The Heroes journey is a story structure that Campbell (Joey Cams as a few of us call him…lol) believed to be the common structure for any kind of story. Ones especially with a hero going on a grand quest. This guy does a better job at explaining it: https://youtu.be/LuD2Aa0zFiA Dan Harmon took that structure concept and made “The Story Circle” out of it. Not sure if I’m speaking for all writers (here on the page or those in their offices. The ones in the corner of their studio apartments on a cheap ikea knock off desk. Or spare bedrooms they made into one even though realtor kept suggesting that it would make a good nursery. Coffee shops where you have your favorite spot, but if someone else is sitting there you just don’t write that day… ) but I feel like we’ve all been that type of way when it comes to trying to be creative. I’d wax poetic about ourselves being our own worst critics, but i don’t want to blow anyones mind…or bore you, mostly. Lol With the current state of Rick and Morty, I think we are in a ride no matter what happens by episode 100. Of how this show, and it’s culture it’s built around the way we see…well, pretty much everything(cosmic pessimism and the cultural zeitgeist…), it knows what it is, and it’s taking that knowledge for the better. (I also read Save The Cat, and am trying to read Save The Cat Writes a Novel…and failing lol. Would love to talk about that with you or anyone on the Discord about it.)
