The observatory depicts a tower on a lonely mountaintop, the telescope gazes at the stars. This card is to look beyond your situation, to know that there are greater things at play. You may not be a piece of the mechanisms of destiny, but simply by observing them, you play your own small part.
The observatory is a peek into what could have been. Occsionally when I draw this card, I like to reveal a couple more cards from the deck. Give the reader a glimpse into a possible present, had they made different choices.
