Amphibia S01 E16 Full Length Reaction

Whoa, I didn't notice that emblem at all. Nice catch. So there's definitely some deeper connection there. Early on when we see Hop Pop it seems he may just have heard about the box in passing or saw it in the book. But now I'm starting to think he may have a deeper connection to the whole thing that we realize.

I’m glad I’m not the only one 🤣
FFT: LOL Arcane did a number on us all, but I think in this scenario your trauma radar is probably spot- on. It will be interesting to see what happened there. Hop Pop’s sailor outfit was so awesome lol! What a CATCH………… get it…….. :D Hahaha I was ready to put that frog in a timeout. He was acting out, big time 🤣 Therapy HIGHLY advised. That song came out of nowhere and brought me so much joy lol! I’m going to need more musical numbers from Sprig, plz. Anne was in her own little universe in this episode and I loved it. BB: If we don’t see those little creatures again at some point I’m gonna scream. I loved them so much. TIM. This is such an eGGcellent point about the eggs! What the heck is going on with that. The “Tongue him?! I hardly know him!” sent me 🤣 I did not see that coming AT ALL I really overlooked the fact that Hop Pop was the Wrecker during my reaction/review because him burying the box was what got my attention, but I think you are spot on that there’s darker elements at play here, and Hop Pop clearly knows of them- and was maybe even involved in them at some point as the Wrecker. I can not WAIT to learn the truth! Did you notice that “The Wrecker” was wearing an emblem on his cape that was the same one as the amphibian at the stand!? I spotted that during my edit. It looks like an hourglass, which is also the symbol at the top of the tree at the Bizarre Bazaar, but not everyone there was wearing one; I believe they were the only 2... I am SO ready for this calamity lore/Sasha villainy/Hop Pop secret life/dark & spooky Amphibia turn!

That would make sense! I was wondering why they were referencing the archives 700 episodes later 🤣

"As soon as I get my life together. Actually you'd be waiting a long time if that's really what we were waiting for" 🤣 SAME Family Fishing Trip: Sprig as a pollywog was so cute. But I've actually wondered the same thing. What happened to Sprig and Polly's parents? I wonder if that's some unresolved trauma that's going to show up later on in the show. (this is me going back into Arcane mode and assuming some deep trauma around every corner). Hop Pop's outfit and the breeze blowing his scarf is a pure chef's kiss moment. Uh oh. You said "Sprig Plantar!" and "Young man!" You know you're in trouble when someone says your full name. That's how you always knew you had messed up when you were a kid and your parents found out. Anne basically summarized our entire internet culture nowadays. "Where did you learn to do this very complicated and dangerous activity?" "I watched a couple of youtube videos on it" I still absolutely love Sprig, but this episode further reinforces my opinion that he needs some therapy. That kid basically has no understanding of boundaries. Sprig's song was a totally unexpected heartstrings moment I loved Anne's random exposition. "This crab is making me very scared! But also very hungry!" And then she wouldn't let it go. 🤣 Bizarre Bazaar: I have no clue what all those little creatures were in this episode but they were pretty adorable. Who's job was it to go around and randomly leave eggs for people to find so they can get to the bazaar? And if it's random, then how are there regulars at the bazaar? Or maybe the regulars have a different way of getting there and the eggs are actually bait so they can lure people in to steal their stuff. Anne's "Yayuhhh" wasn't quite as funny as her "Raht thur" but it wasn't far off. 🤣 "Oh no! They have signs! It must be true!" God, if that isn't another commentary on our current culture as well "Tongue him?? I hardly know him!" I love the random semi-dirty adult jokes the show throws in from time to time. We keep learning more things about Hop Pop which just lead to more questions. When in the hell did he learn to be a prize winning cockroach racer? And obviously he's quite familiar with the bizarre bazaar himself. What's the story there? Speaking of Hop Pop...he seems legit terrified of that box. There's a ton we don't know about him there as well. But I'm thinking Anne may have actually been super lucky that her backpack was stolen before she could show off the box, because she doesn't fully understand how powerful and potentially dangerous it is. Like someone walking around with a nuclear warhead in a bag and asking random people on the street if they know what it is. As far as my predictions...it feels like there's a somewhat dark undercurrent to reality in this world. I'm guessing most things are not quite what they seem and we're starting to get little snippets of that. I think eventually there's going to be an intersection or inflection point where the undercurrent will meet the surface reality and we'll get a look at what's really going on in the dark behind the scenes. At least that's what I hope. I also think that in that undercurrent is where Sasha will intersect with the rest of the world. Or maybe Sasha herself will actually BE that inflection point that brings the two together. And once they come together, things will go in a whole new direction. I haven't watched ahead so I don't know, but I still have this feeling that Sasha may end up being a main villain. Her personality (and likely psychopathy) almost demands it, along with her newfound power in the world of Amphibia. Power for psychopaths is essentially a drug, so I could see it easily overriding any loyalty she might feel towards Anne. Then their goals may end up being so diametrically opposed that a war is inevitable. Good lord I just realized how long this post is. Sorry about that, but the Bizarre Bazaar brought up so many interesting points.

I've seen the series so I can't comment on .that. lol But it is a good episode, i think it might have been in a different production order than air order
