Invincible S01 E08 Full Length Reaction

What an incredible ride this show has been. Really looking forward to season 2... And really looking forward to Owl House as a happy little break from all this violence LOL

Invincible S01 E08 Full Length Reaction

Dude I am just in shock right now. I mean I knew what ever this secret was that Nolan was keeping wasn’t exactly gonna be great, but that was just so much worse than I could’ve ever imagined! When I tell you that my jaw was on the freaking floor when he said all that shit about Debbie…. can you imagine your partner of like 20 years saying something like that about you?? Like Debbie is the real hero of this show and she deserves way better dammit😔 Nolan in general was just so scary to watch in this, the way he just expected Mark to be totally game for this master race bullshit and just drop everything he’s known the past 17 years. Like I get that his lifespan is crazy long and it’s probably harder and harder with each new relationship to really get attached but to just be such an asshole about other living things “weaker” than him and to destroy all those innocent lives just to prove to your son that none of it matters? You’re absolutely right he is the worst person in the whole world. it’s safe to say your reaction speaks for itself but for me some of that was really hard to watch, like Mark just uncontrollably wiping out that whole street and oh man THAT TRAIN SCENE. Best believe I was crying my way through this episode right along with ya girl😭😂 Steven Yeun’s voice acting alone was making me tear up, it’s so heartbreaking because it was such a one sided fight yet he wouldn’t stop trying to make his dad see sense or appeal to the love he knows is there (at least to a certain extent) but yeah some of those line deliveries when he was really getting messed up just made it so much more gut wrenching, and that flashback was the LAST straw for me that had me looking through teary eyes the rest of the episode🥲 and like you said thanks to that little moment of self reflection maybe there is a chance for Nolan after all? Fr tho this episode was fantastic, the animation and soundtrack were so freaking good it’s crazy and just so much action and raw emotion, genuinely beautiful. That goes for the season as a whole too I absolutely loved it, there’s so much to look forward to now if they end up making more😁 lastly I was thinking the other day how you would rank the shows we’ve watched together on this channel so far? Like from best to worst, although I don’t believe there to be a bad show on here I think it could be cool to know where each show goes on your list! That might be like choosing your favourite child actually so no problem if you couldn’t decide😂 hope you have a lovely rest of your week mate and thank you for always brightening my weeks with these reactions!✨ See you soon for OWL HOUSEEE🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊

So true, must've cost a s*** ton of money to animate this episode let alone this entire season.

Wait until you meet CONQUEST!!!!

I couldn't agree more! I don't think I ever would have watched the show if it weren't for the channel, so I'm so grateful I found it through you guys! Truly a masterpiece. Fingers crossed that future seasons will keep up the stellar quality this first one had.

Man I can't imagine how much is going to change and happen in 12 seasons of this show!

Hahahaha so you're just a liiiittle bit ahead, is what you're saying 🤣

You're absolutely right, Julian. I think that's why this show leaves such an impact on so many people. It's a superhero show with human themes. At what point do you chalk someone up as a "lost cause" who's too "stuck in their own ways"? I know Mark will keep fighting to turn Nolan around, but I worry that he's just going to keep getting hurt (emotionally and physically). The fallout of everything that happened during this season is going to be so interesting to see in season 2... ALONG WITH THIS SOBER , POSITIVE RICK SANCHEZ WHAT!? Amish, that *is* a frightening thought

Not to mention some STELLAR VO work

I'm so glad you enjoyed the finale as much as I did. I don't have a single complaint. I thought the writing, directing, animation was all flawless

HAHAHAHA okay my make-up may be top- notch but so was that pun 🤣

Hahahaha I think we'll be seeing many more Vegemites next season

LOL omg you're right...

***WHO'S A GOOD BOY***

And I'm so excited for Owl House too :D

What do you think you would do!?

I guess I could see myself viewing my SO as a "pet" because when you consider your lifespan compared to theirs, it's comparable to that of a cat or dog or even fish lol. So I guess I don't fault him for that. But I think where I differ from Omniman is that I find all life to be sacred. I feel guilty for even killing an ant or a fly lol! So where Nolan smashes people's faces in with zero remorse, I think I would still have an awareness that I was ending consciousness and life and try my best to honor that life. But WHO KNOWS LOL! Maybe I would end up just like him, especially considering the way he was raised on Viltramite.

That's such a good question and I've actually discussed it with friends of mine before. I have one friend in particular who is a TV buff and is always annoyed by the "live forever" trope because he doesn't feel he's seen it portrayed very accurately. I told him Invincible may be the closest I've seen to an accurate psychological/emotional portrayal. Because I agree, I think after so long there's just no way you would view the world and your relationships the same.

"I had straight up tears shooting out of my eyes..they didn't run down they were so large they just dropped like pebbles out of my eyes lol" I'm cracking up. SAME!

Invincible is one of those rare gems you stumble upon once in a while. I remember hearing about the series announcement and being super interested. However, on release day I decided to check it out and... well you saw first episode. The whole season I was pretty much watching to see what was going on with Omni-man and I feel that I got a satisfying reason. But beyond that an amazing finale. It's rare I find a series with a gripping first episode and such a stellar finale (season finale). BTW after the season ended I bought the first complete emporium

I just recently finished all 12 ultimate volumes of the comics and the first season only goes through the first volume

A sober Rick Sanchez ... now there's a frightening thought.

The Amish Electrician

I was in a sort of situation like this. Even though it was not about being part of a superior race of Nazi Kryptonians, it was about family. You see who you've called family for who they really are. You may empathize with how they came to be where they are now, mainly because of circumstances or just their own choices, but there are some where you just watch and can't do nothing about it. I won't get into details, but it's somewhere close to home that I am glad, in a way, it happened. This series is much bigger than just some superhero story. It's about how someone who was raised with a certain ideology and lived it came to question it in the end after crossing a line. There's a wisecrack video that shows the Irony of it all. Now for what I hope they do for the rest of the series, and how all of the villain's and other heroes that may appear in some shape or form, I can't wait to see how they do it. Especially if I feel like I know who might be the antagonist (major or minor depending on the story) in the next season, they have a chance to make this show a great one. Without giving anything away, and what I think they may do, the next villain is a sober, and positive Rick Sanchez. Scary to think about huh? lol

Man... Omniman sure did leave a Mark......*cricket noises* I’ll see my self out... All jokes aside, I agree that this is the best episode of the season for sure, possibly even the best animated episode of the year for me. Can’t wait for these upcoming seasons! Seeing you cry like that hits us all in the feels. That is some top notch makeup you had on to keep you looking beautiful throughout all those waterworks lolz.

I think one of the questions for next season is at what point a Vegemite armada will show up to claim their property.

The Amish Electrician

You think The Owl House won't have violence and death? This is DISNEY we're talking about here. Remember, at Disney, the parents MUST die...

The Amish Electrician

Wait ... you're NOT supposed to love your spouse like a pet? Yet another lie my ex told me...

The Amish Electrician

Hooooly shit what an ending! Man when he said his wife is more like a pet that was heartbreaking! I had straight up tears shooting out of my eyes..they didn't run down they were so large they just dropped like pebbles out of my eyes lol. I'm sad that I was right to be dubious about his motivations right from the start because his backstory was too wholesome to be true. And while this episode was definitely great I had really hoped for a better reason why he killed the guardians than that he's basically just a huge megalomaniacal supremacist dickhead 🤨 Because while it's a tragic reveal it's also more or less the least interesting reason it could have been. Although there's something I would be interested in getting your opinions on. Do you think you can actually live for thousands of years without getting jaded. I mean imagine everyone you knew died within a week and then everyone else you meet after that also dies in a week which is a bit like a human lifespan compared to his...for how long and for how many times can you go through that before you just can't care anymore? Maybe it's possible for a while and some might last longer than others, I'm sure you Alycia would be caring and compassionate for much longer than most but do you think you could do it for lets say 10000 years? Watching everyone around you die every week and still build friendships and truly care for them? I feel like getting distant and withdrawing from people at some point in time seems almost inevitable even if it's just a reflex to protect yourself. Maybe I'm just predisposed to thinking that because there are so many examples of it being portrayed in movies and series...like the Elves in Lord of the Rings, or "Me" from Doctor Who just off the top of my head. I'm really trying to imagine it and I'm not sure how long I could do it if everyone around me just dropped like flies every week. Not because I'd be indifferent but because if I feel I feel too much if anything and I don't think I could take it over and over again. It's hard to imagine for us living such a long life....but the positive I took away from it is life is great and meaningful because it ends not despite it. That being said though...it's not really a valid point in defense of Omni-Man either way because at least the way he tells it he hasn't even experienced it yet because Earth was his first planet right? So while he's been alive for a long time already it had been around people like him who have the same lifespan. It did get me thinking about the concept though. Sorry for the long existentialist digression 😆 but I'm genuinely curious about your guy's views. But I'm excited for Owl House now...HOOOT HOOOT 🦉

Amazon has another show that's kinda similar, dark mature superhero story, called The Boys. Though I warn you it's kinda violent as well but it's live action. It's pretty good, and has a pretty big roster of characters. It stars Karl Urban, who is a pretty good actor, he starred as Judge Dredd in the 2012 movie Dredd (he also was the one who pushed for Dredd to never remove his helmet in the movie which is a trademark of the character in the comics.) Also as far as the Rudy and Monster Girl thing, don't forget he's actually 30 years old but just in a teenage body as well. Though admittedly Monster Girl would be more experienced with the world being that Rudy was in that chamber. I also like the way at the end of the episode they gave us a peak at some of the future storylines. Oh, to note about the cyborgs, I remember Cecil mentioning that the ones they sent after Omni-Man were actually made from the bodies of dead soldiers, so at least it's probably safe to assume the other ones are as well, and not kidnapped living people.
