I gotta be honest with you, the first time I watched this series all I heard for most of season one was Bill Cypher anytime King spoke xD
I'm definitely enjoying these reactions but what I really can't wait for is when you get further ahead, I'd say by about episode 8 the show finds its groove and from then on I'll be really stoked! 🤩

...Also, even though he's not a main character at this time, I actually think Hooty is my favorite character. I love that he TRIES to add some intrigue into his interactions that, sadly, seem to be met with immediate dismissal. Additionally, he reminds me a bit of Jake from Adventure Time with his rounded edges and casual stretchiness.

First off, I laughed out loud when she said, "Ooooo...this quest is questing in ALL the right ways."
Secondly, I think you're right about needing both episodes. Since I actually started by watching episodes one and two back to back, I feel better about the show. The first episode left me feeling like Eda was fairly apathetic towards Luz and brought nothing to the story except for simply representing the potential of being a witch. Now that she has made the effort to protect her and then comfort her she is a bit more sympathetic of a character for me.

My dark and creepy part of my writers brain is tingling...I'm fully in now. Got my chair and notebooks ready.

⭐🦋 Eda and King don't necessarily have to have Luz's best interests in heart. If they're good mentors, they can give Luz the knowledge to know what's in her own best interest and act accordingly.

I'm caught up on the show, I just love Eda's sass, but you're right King and Luz are needed to balance her out. I'm happy you're enjoying the show.
