The show has been canceled by Disney even though it will be a third and final season. "According to Deadline, the third season of the show will consist of three 44-minute specials. Unfortunately, the news is bittersweet, since Terrace revealed on Twitter that Season 3 will be the show's final."

Wonderful dynamic - Gwen is going to cure her daughter whether she wants it or not! Eda is the rejected/lost child. Somehow her mom's concern has morphed into a rejection of her daughter's entire life... or at least in Eda's eyes. Now, what about the father?

Omg I was wondering about the bird thing! I wasn't sure if all palismans are winged (giving their staff owner the ability to fly) or if that was just the Clawthornes. I thought this episode was really deep. It showed how a child in the family being sick can really unravel an otherwise happy family dynamic. It doesn't just affect the kid that's struggling with the illness, but the other members of the family as well. And there's an added layer to Lily's narrative as she's the one that caused it! I feel like that probably really cemented her perfectionism... feeling like she needed to be the best kid possible to not only gain attention from her mom, but also as a way of trying to forgive herself. I also love the ending of this episode- showing that it's never too late to reconnect with someone if they're willing to change and grow. I think Gwendolyn and her daughters are going to have a much healthier relationship from here on out :)

That ending scene had me SHOOK to my CORE. I genuinely have no idea who/what it could be. I'm curious if they're there to ultimately help or hurt Luz/Luz's mom, but that ominous music tells me it's probably the latter EEK!

Thinking about Eda's mom being that focused on finding a cure for Eda for that long makes me sad for both of them. Eda's mom probably felt a duty to help her daughter but Eda clearly just wanted to be accepted and loved regardless of this new part of herself. I think this episode did such a great job of showing an honest family dynamic (one of many, but honest all the same), and how each family member's agenda effects the family as a whole. AND OMG DARK LUZ I KNOW! Yeah I'm torn because I'm glad that Camila doesn't think Luz is missing or dead but this just doesn't seem like good news in the long run 😅

Oh also, notice how the Clawthornes all have bird palismans? Lilith’s is a white raven (her curse is also called the Raven Beast) and obviously Gwen’s is a hawk, Hawksley. Dana did say in a Reddit ama after season 1 ended that birds are mainly a Clawthorne thing. I also love how Luz’s phone cover is a bat, cuz it’s a different class of animal than a bird, but they both fly. It’s like how Luz and the Clawthornes are different species, but they both do magic. Idk if it’s intentional symbolism, but I think it’s beautiful either way.

Ooh you finally meet Creepy Luz! That’s what Luz’s voice actress called her during an interview. She tried to play it off like she was talking about a line from season 1, but when this episode came out the fandom dubbed the doppelgänger Creepy Luz. I can’t wait for next week’s reaction! This episode sets up several of the bigger plot points for the season. The human who was in the Boiling Isles, more on the Owlbeast, and the ending scene. Also one thing I noticed was since they added the first 5 episodes of season 2 part B there's a decent chance before you reach that cutoff they'll have added the other episodes before you reach them as well.

Ahh this episode 😀 So many interesting insights revealed in one episode! No wonder Lilith is so needy and constantly seeks approval their Mom was so focused on Eda's curse that she neglected Lilith...and if their Mom's relationship with Eda isn't the darndest queer metaphore. On the face of it it seemed harsh for Eda to dismiss her Mom and say "Nah I'm good" but it's not Eda's responsibility to be part of her Mom's years long journey to come to terms with and accept and support how Eda is now and good on her to recognize that! I mean Gwendolyn had good intentions but in pursuing a cure for so long she basically neglected one of her children and alienated the other one. ^^ It was really heartfelt when they made up in the end and it's nice Lilith gets to reconnect with her Mom like that...poor Hooty tho he's heartbroken 😆 Gotta admit like some others of you I've grown rather fond of Hooty and Lilith's relationship so we'll see how this plays out with them being apart I've watched the first half of the season but, in this instance, my terrible memory is a boon because I don't remember what happened with Lilith and Hootcifer. 😁 We shall find out together... Oh and I think Lilith just attacked Eda because the owl beast channeled her internalized resentment...and ontop of that she just found out her Mom had been visiting Eda regularly when she herself hadn't really been in contact with her at all it seems. Her reaction when hearing that was so sad. So I'd say we can let that one slide 😆 I can only say it again season 2 *gush* Sooo good. 💕

But... but... but... But just as I was beginning to believe in Lily's redemption, she transforms into an Owl Beast, attacks Eda and decides to leave the Owl House. Does she have something to do with FakeLuz? Not so sure either way!

So this is happening huh 😁 Well, last week I realized I am trans...and honestly it's been a long time coming lol. It's actually mind-baffling it took so long to realize. Anyways I wanted to change my name and that's basically the only reason I'm addressing it here. I just didn't want to cease existing as Weswyn and surface under a new name if that makes any sense. I'm still me and I wanted people to know this is still me despite the new name so I'm leaving the name like this for a week maybe two so people have time to notice it and then I'll change it. And then new people coming into the dweebdom will just know me by my new name as it's supposed to be. HOOT-HOOT🤪 I thought this episode was really good! And the scene at the end.. It was breathtaking to say the least! Made me think for a while about who or what it could be. Could be an evil shapeshifter😈 Or it could be a dark version of Luz who somehow, someway, got into the human realm from an alternate reality.

Mom was on a 30 year mission - if Eda was a teen when cursed that puts her in her mid 40's? Anyway... Dark Luz - nope, dont like it... Dont like it all. Pretty cruel, messing with her mom like that... but at least it keeps her from being upset about the missing daughter. I was wondering how they were going to get around Camila's reaction when Luz didnt come home from camp... but not this!
