awe how lovely of you to say🌟 fr though all props to the people who write this beautiful show for giving us such an amazing character to gush over🤩✨ I mean I can totally see why she’s your favourite dude and I have to agree, I think only if Lilly were to get some more development she could possibly take over as my favourite, I love a good redemption and seeing a character grow and change for the better, having made stupid mistakes myself in the past I’d hate for that to be how everyone judged my character, But for now no question the angel that is Eda has my whole heart💜 awe absolutely I too have such a deep appreciation for music, It’s really crazy how much of an effect music can have on you, the right song can completely take me out of any mood or soften any sadness, give me goosebumps or just make me completely ball my eyes out, sometimes all in one song lol. I think that’s why I always find myself asking you what you’re listening to (and I appreciate you always indulging me mate✨) not just because you have great taste but because I love discovering artists and songs I’ve never heard before, I guess I just don’t wanna miss out on any potential beauty out there because there’s just so much music now to enjoy, it’s very easy for gems to fly right over my radar. AW NO IT WOULD BE SO SWEET😭 that’s why it’d be so great, if I wanted someone to play some perfect uke (amazing abbreviation of that word btw it sounds so cute in my head😂) I’d just search up a really good uke player, yours would have personality and character in its imperfections, a total uniqueness to it✨ no pressure though of course if you don’t feel confident enough in your abilities yet, just an idea☺️

Definitely, there is for sure a correlation between why it took so long for me to realize what's going on with my gender and the lack of representation that was around especially during puberty etc because all the information I got was like through the grapevine told to me by other people who maybe didn't have the best attitude towards it. I basically suffered from clinical depression from puberty until very recently and once I realized who I really am my depression just disappeared like that *snap* It's so crazy that something I didn't even know had such a crazy impact on my life that was completely unnecessary is so sad to me. So if representation even gets a handful of people to realize what's going on with their life earlier, it's the best thing in the world, but even just normalizing it for cis people is also an important aspect of course. I mean I'm still a severely anxious mess but not having to deal with depression ontop of that is such a boon to my life now. 😁

They/them as pronouns probably isn't the best choice. There were several times it wasn't clear to me whether they were talking about Raine or a group of people, the context allowed for either. For example, that sentence ... does "whether they" refer to Raine, or another non-binary character, or a group of characters? Clarity in communication IS important, and your need to apologize shows what can happen by choosing certain words. There has to be a better, clearer, pronoun choice.

I really loved the use of instruments to create magic as well! I genuinely think music is the closest thing we have to magic in the real world, so it makes sense that it would inspire some type of power in a magical world as well. I think we did see the Bard coven before during the covention episode, but it was super brief. I can't remember either lol. And it's so funny that you mention putting out a uke cover for a milestone video because I've absolutely considered doing that. The issue is that I really don't practice as much as I would like and I'm genuinely not that good yet. I think people would be more like "Aww... that's sad" than "Aww... that's sweet" if I put something out like that 😂😂😂😂

Also I hope it's alright for me to ask, when did you realize you are nonbinary? Did you find you've always "known", similar to the trans community? Or was it more of a cultural inspiration/"choice"? If you're uncomfortable to share your journey at all, please don't feel pressured to share! But I'm always looking to learn more about the LGBTQIA+ community as I identify as bi/pan myself. I don't have any nonbinary friends so I would be honored to learn anything I can from your story!

I can't tell you how much this comment means to me. I'm so relieved. I was really hoping anyone who is nonbinary would see my heart and know I didn't mean any ill-intent. But knowing that you are nonbinary and still misgender characters makes me feel worlds better lol!

You're so sweet to ask. The mask mandate lifted about a month ago and it has made my job 1000x more enjoyable. Since coming back to the airlines I was happy to have my job back but knew it didn't feel the same. I'm able to connect with and laugh with people so much more now that the tension of being the "mask police" is gone. I actually have fun at my job again now and I'm happier than ever to be back in the skies :)

I'm so relieved I wasn't the only one that missed the they/them comments. It genuinely just went completely over my head and wasn't malicious at all. But now that I know Raine is nonbinary I am STOKED about it lol! Having that representation in a Disney show is a game-changer. Makes my heart so happy 🥺

I AM LIVING FOR THE QUEER REPRESENTATION IN THIS SHOW 😭❤️ I don't mean to sound dramatic but I genuinely think seeing Luz/Amity & Eda/Raine is healing some childhood wounds for me. I always knew I wasn't 100% straight but I never got to see a romance between anyone other than straight men and straight women. The Owl House gives me so much hope for future generations *and* for myself!

That part was so beautiful! The song reminded me of.........oh........I'm brain farting lol. What's the name of the female violinist who does EDM remixes? It reminded me of one of her songs!

The first animated non-binary character I can remember seeing was in Steven Universe and I was *gassed* over it lol! I didn't catch that Raine went by they/them either. I sometimes make that mistake when addressing others and if I do I always apologize. I kinda go by the rule tell me what you want me to call you and I'll address you as such. I might have especially missed it in this episode as I currently have ear infections and my hearing is at like 50% capacity or less. I have to wait for the beginning of next month to afford to go to the doctor and get medicine. I could see the doctor but I won't be able to afford the medicine till next month, and since I don't drive I might as well kill two birds with one stone and see my doctor and the pharmacy that's only 1 lot away at the same time.

Mann, Eda was just breaking my heart throughout this one, she’s become so reliant on the positive relationships she has around her and thats so lovely, but the idea of losing all of that here was clearly so hard for her, this is probably the most vulnerable we’ve ever seen Eda which I kind of love in a way! She’s gone from this (at least to me at first) seemingly untouchable force of nature and has just been broken down so elegantly throughout a fairly short amount of time to reveal this really special and thoughtful person with so much love to give. This episode really put that in the clearest view for me and I’m sure we’ve barely even scratched the surface as far as Eda’s growth is concerned✨ I loved what you said about these really human moments this show so expertly weaves into its episodes because I completely agree, it’s so brilliantly done! Since you mentioned GF my mind instantly went to that amazing time travel episode where we got to learn more about Soos and his relationship with birthdays due to his dad. That really stuck with me and is probably one of my favourite episodes of the show actually due to that extra layer of emotional character work they managed to incorporate, it beautifully grounds an otherwise fairly crazy and chaotic story which I think is really genius. The use of Instruments in this episode to create magic was so awesome too, is that something we’ve already seen in this realm and I just have an awful memory? As far as I can recall this is the first time I’ve seen magic done this way but it’s was so beautiful!! Also just a really cool way to parallel old and current Eda and how her magic has been affected by recent events, which is as equally worrying as it is cool because we need all the help we can get right now when it comes to the day of unity!😅 Speaking of instruments do you still find time for the ukulele? I’d love to hear a song someday or maybe you could like play out your 1000th reaction video with a little tune idk😂🌟 anyway yeah absolutely adored this episode and I hope you have a lovely rest of your weekend mate!

Raine actually uses they/them pronouns. Alycia didn’t catch that in the episode, but she mentioned it in the summary of this post. Also I think Disney+ is still uploading episodes at about the same rate. For season 2 they uploaded after the first 5 episodes aired, then again after 6-10 had all aired. Now they’ve uploaded 11-16, and I’m guessing they’ll upload the rest after episode 21 airs next weekend.

I must have missed this episode when I was watching this series. Looking back that's why when Raine gets mentioned later on I had no idea who he was lol. I thought he might have been a side character I just forgot. This must have been back when I was having to pirate episodes to keep up with Zamber because Disney+ was so slow to add episodes at that time. They've improved a bit lately. What really sucks is since it's available on Hulu if you have the live tv package I already have Hulu premium and Disney+, I don't wanna pay $40 extra a month just for next day releases.

Oh, gosh. I AM nonbinary, and I still accidentally misgender characters, Raine included, all the time. Our brains are what they are. We can't meaningfully control that, only our behavior. The fact that you went through the trouble of issuing a clarification means a lot more to me than your making the mistake in the first place.

I approve the change of Friday to Friyay in the description because I'm always like yay when a new episode comes out 😋 This was such an emotional episode I cried like twice within like 2 minutes first when Eda was totally up for sacrificing herself to stop Belos and then again when King revealed he wants to change his name. And every time they started playing Raine's rhapsody I got fullbody goosies 🥰 Makes me want to listen to some more "Schandmaul" which is a German medieval Folk-Rock Band with a lot of pluck string instruments and stuff and I'm totally in the vibe right now. There's a song called "Die letzte Tröte" which translates to like "The last horn" and is a song about a King banning all music and rounding up all the instruments and burning them and a last troubadour hiding away his horn and playing it for people in secret and starting a revolution against the king because people couldn't stand living with having their music stolen from them and I feel like this has strong parallels with what's going on in the Boiling Isles right now and this episode in particular with the Bards. Speaking of vibes I'm totally here for Eda with a high ponytail it looks majestic! 🤗 That totally has to be King's dad or mom maybe who knows with that race ^^ I wonder if they come into play stopping Belos because if the island where King's castle was is really that old maybe his parent has some old world powers that they can use to put their foot down to stop things. As to your pronoun slipup it's fine (for me) I think most reasonable people look at intent more so than just assuming it to be malicious. And to be fair with they/them in particular it can be easily confused especially when you're not being told specifically but only overhear other people using it. I almost missed it as well because of how Eda phrased it you could have assumed that she meant all of the Bards if you didn't pay 100% attention in that moment. By the way how has your job been going lately? Are people still going crazy on planes or have things calmed down some? I assume there are no longer mask mandates for air travel in the US but I'm not entirely sure. I've only seen that it's still mandatory for air travel here in Germany. Either way I hope people haven't been giving you grief and you're doing great!

Love Mommy Eda soo much! Also, Fun Fact: Raine Whispers is Disney's FIRST Non-Binary Character (They/Them). I remember the time this episode first came out, Fans loved them right away. I think there's one episode in Season 1 where Raine was in a picture, together with Eda and Lilith as kids but their face was covered. Eda's requiem + Raine's rhapsody still gives me goosebumps. Soo Good! I just can't believe this show just keeps on getting better every week. I know I may already said this a couple of times now but it really still surprise me how they're doing it. Just wow!
