Murmur is a great duke and an earle, appearing in the shape of a souldier, riding on a griphen [vulture], with a dukes crowne on his head; there go before him two of his ministers, with great trumpets, he teacheth philosophie absolutelie, he constraineth soules to come before the exorcist, to answer what he shall aske them, he was of the order partlie of thrones, and partlie of angels, <and ruleth thirtie legions.>

The 54th spirit in order is called Murmur, he is a great duke & an Earle, & appeareth In ye forme of a souldier ridding on a griffin with a dukes Crown on his head, there goeth before him two of his Ministers, wth great Trumpets sounding, his office is to teach Phylosophy perfectly, & to constraine soules discesed [deceased] to come before ye Exorcist to answare those things yt he shall aske them, if he desireth, he was partly of ye order of Thrones & partly [of the order] of angels, & [he] Ruleth now 30 Legions of spirits, his seal is this, wch is to be worne as a Lamin &c.

Appearance: A soldier riding a gryphon, proceeded by two ministers carrying trumpets.

Notes: The necromancy thing is interesting. It calls upon Murmurr’s relationship with Bune in their role in processing the dead. It seems that Bune manages the bodies, while Murmurr commands the soul and spirit.

Brand of the Necromancer - The marked gains the ability to summon the spirits of the recently dead. Upon touching an intact corpse that died less than a year hence, their former spirit is called. The marked has no control over the dead, however, they are able to ask questions of the departed. Upon dismissal, the same spirit cannot be called again.
