Solar Opposites S04 E01 Full Length Reaction

My grandfather was a surgeon for fifty years, beginning in Mexico, where he was born. He actually treated a kid for the exact same impaling injury that the supervisor gets in this episode, except that the bar pierced the skull from left to right, rather than front to back. Amazingly, the kid was fine. It was a fascinating procedure.

I share the same opinions as you with both Korvo & Rick and Morty! I think it was a power move to completely change Korvo’s voice ~h0wEvErrrr~ I’m not sure they hit the nail on the head with this one. I think the dryer delivery feels a bit out of place in the Solar Opposite’s universe, which is otherwise wacky and zany and quirky! It felt like Korvo’s more fun, sensitive side was missing in this episode, although maybe it is just the “dead-end job” situation itself? I think the writing is still sooo solid, and shows that Justin maybe had little to do with the writers’ room itself? I hope the bad reviews don’t end up hurting the show :( There’s still so much good in it. The posters stole the show in this episode for me 🤣 I just love thinking about the staff on SO coming up with that and giggling at their clever creations. I hope they have as much fun working on this show as it sure seems like they do. “Goodbye empathy, I hardly knew ye” 🤣🤣 Same, honestly! I was not emotionally prepared for the Yumulak & Jessie flashback 🥺 SENTIMENTAL (AF!!!)

Not sure how I feel about the voice, though I do respect that they completely leaned hard AF into it and went in a totally different direction instead of trying to find someone who could do the exact same voice. Makes me wonder what approach they'll take with Rick and Morty. Korvo can work with a different accent but not sure it would with Rick. I'm guessing it will just take time to adjust. Oh man...I'm a total Stan for Terry as well. He's just so extra AF and never fails to crack me up. He's so oblivious. "I'm tired of forcing out a laugh every time she cradles a wedding photo. It's uncomfortable!" That being said, the writing is still great AF and it still has the exact same feel as the lunacy of past Solar Opposites seasons. I was curious how the reception was, but saw that people ("people" in this case probably meaning right wing incel chuds) have been review bombing because they're mad that Roiland is gone. Some people just won't ever grow up (and they wonder why women want nothing to do with them). It's hard AF to do a full review of SO, because there's always just so much insane crap. I didn't notice the "Lettuce Be Friends" poster, so I went back and looked after you mentioned it. Jesus, that IS creep AF! I'm with you...the motivational rake posters are such a sublime combination of ridiculous, hilarious, and depressing (AF). I was actually feeling really bad for their boss when he was at home alone. Then he busts out the Penthouse magazine with the reindeer blowing Santa and I facepalmed. Goodbye empathy, I hardly knew ye. 🤣 "Pim and Jam" 🤣 "Girl, what do you need the dick ray for?" is a line that I can't imagine hearing anywhere but Solar Opposites. That flashback to Yum and Jessie as growing plants was actually a heartstring tugger. As you mentioned as well, this show is mostly pure frivolity and fun, but every once in a while it randomly emotion punches you in the face. "I'm f***ing covered in dicks, years too early!" 🤣🤣 I cannot WAIT to see what Terry the boss (baby) is like. (AF)
