Amphibia S02 E08 Full Length Reaction

I loved this weeks episodes they were both so funny and had so many sweet moments!! Having said that, I absolutely agree that it’s a little frustrating when they wave that little scene of Marcy uncovering this cool secret tomb in our faces and then it doesn’t come back up in the next episode😭💔 I’m curious to see what’s gonna happen with the whole calamity box situation honestly. They know it’s back home, not exactly where they think it is but definitely in Wartwood, but aren’t making any plans to go and get it so far. The king seemed super optimistic about figuring this whole thing out after learning where the box is at first, but yeah, I wonder when we’re gonna go back for that, and if there’s anything else that can truly be done in the meantime? I have to say in regards to the king, you have been beating yourself up way too much about taking him at face value, I wouldn’t rule anything out just yet! When we formally met the king I was under his spell in an instanttt, he is SO sweet and seemingly harmless every time we’ve interacted with him since that first scene! I’m thinking it could be a misdirection. They made that first scene with him and the chess pieces look so ominous, but really he could just know more than he’s letting on about the box and the three girls, maybe he has good reason to keep it to himself! There’s gotta be a prophecy about these girls or the box itself, we know for sure Hop Pop has some interesting reading material on the box! It could play very nicely into your theory about past lives and cycles repeating, that’s why he had the chess piece of Anne before even meeting her. You even mentioned the three girls and the three missing gems in this reaction which I never took note of before, that can’t be a coincidence!!!🤔 For all we know he could just be trying to protect his people and get these girls home safe? He definitely has an angle that we don’t know about yet but I don’t know if it’s 100% malicious at this point! He’s soooo frickin nice in EVERY interaction I just can’t believe he’s got some secret evil agenda! Unless you’ve watched ahead and know for a fact that this is all baloney, in which case, please ignore alladat!🤣🤣 I loved that first episode so much, Anne and Polly really bring out the worst in each other and it’s hilarious to watch😂 The “Tails! Tails!” part was so good and had me laughing just as hard as you!! It reminded of the “Tricks! Tricks!” scene from that one Solar Opposites episode where they all started chanting around the picnic table🤣 The flashback to baby Anne was so sweet, then Anne present day just crying about the carrot trail mix had me dyingg😂 Meeting Anne’s mama too!!! Definite highlight for me!✨ Funnest part for me was Marcy’s “nOoOOo” when she ruined that tapestry🤣 I liked the little shots they kept doing with the backgrounds too, I think you called them flares? like when Sprig realised he was handcuffed to Hop Pop and when Anne and Polly jumped in the air shouting their team name! Who can forget that ending freeze frame of Sprig “going long” too🤣 I know it’s probably definitely been done in this show before but it really caught my eye in this one! Your “Hop Pop, don’t tug at my heartstrings when I know you did a thing!!” got me so good too because RIGHT?!🤣 Hop Pop has one serious poker face when it comes to talking about the calamity box, or he just genuinely doesn’t care😂 Him calling Anne his “adopted granddaughter” was the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard in my life though, my “AWW”s could be heard from three doors down🥹😂 I don’t have much to say about the second episode, but I really did like it! Sprig’s my favourite lil dude and seeing him shine in his own unique ✨Sprig✨ way was so cute, I loved him in his little robe and tie too OMG🥺😭 I was so weirded out when the school turned out to be not sus at all, the teacher blowing off the whole “next semester” scholarship thing and offering him a place in the school the very next day was SO weird!! I was with Hop Pop I thought they were gonna be skin stealers too…💀 Apparently not though, they just thought Sprig was amazing…. which he isssss!! Amazing enough to keep the offer open for whenever he feels like, that’s so cool! I’d love to see him go there someday when he’s a little older and ready, hoping for a flash forward if all goes well with the end of the show🤞🥹 ALSO BESSIEEEE🤩🤩😭😭💎💎 wow, turns out I actually had plenty to say about this episode😅 I’m disgusted in myself for even saying this but until you mentioned her, I totally forgot about Bessie😭💀 I was like “OH YEAH, WHERE IS SHE?!”😂 Her comforting Hop Pop while he reminisced was SO CUTE and my favourite part of the second episode, I want a hug and accompanying eye pat from Bessieee🥺✨ If you’re still reading this behemoth of a comment, thank you so much you’re a gem, but last thing, it just made my whole week and I had to tell you! I got myself a free morning today and to my absolute surprise Beauty and the Beast (1992) was playing in the cinema!! Omg when I tell you my face LIT UP!🤩 I have some really sweet early memories of watching that movie, knowing it’s my mum’s favourite movie too makes it double special, also it’s been soooo long since I last saw it. Needless to say I fell in love with it all over again…. The songs, the animation, just perfect💖 I adoreee the movies, so so much it’s my absolute favourite thing, and when it’s as special a movie as that one, I just couldn’t stop smiling about it✨ + idk if they’ve gone back and touched it up since it originally released but it just looked so crisp and stunning on the big screen, the backgrounds were insanely beautiful and that ballroom scene with the title song…. 🥺 If they haven’t done anything to it since release then props to them because it was ✨*chefs kiss*✨ Hope you’re doing good mate, and I hope that sickness isn’t kicking ya too hard!:’)

Even though this episode felt like filler (sans those two minutes of Marcy and Andreas finding the SE-CRET TUN-NELLLLLLLLLL) it was pretty funny. The lines "Shush, I'm lazy" and "ah" live rent-free in my head for life. My favorite line from the schooled episode was Sprig's "NOPE"(x6), mostly because of the face he made.
