Glasya Labolas, alias Caacrinolaas, or Caassimolar, is a great president, who commeth foorth like a dog, and hath wings like a griffen, he giveth the knowledge of arts, and is the captaine of all mansleiers: he understandeth things present and to come, he gaineth the minds and love of freends and foes, he maketh a man go invisible, and hath the rule of six and thirtie legions.

Original Text : Glasya labolas, alias Caacrinolaas vel Caassimolar magnus Præses: Qui progreditur ut canis habens alas gryphi. Artium cognitionem dat, interim dux omnium homicidarum. Præsentia and futura intelligit. Tam amicorum quam inimicorum animos demeretur: Et hominem reddit invisibilem. Imperium habet triginta sex legionum.

FROM THE DICTIONAIRRE INFERNAL

Caacrinolaas, also named Caassimolar' or Glassialabolas, great President in Hell. He shows himself in the form of a dog, of which he has the stride, with griffin wings. He gives knowledge of liberal arts and, in a bizarre contrast, he inspires homicides. This demon makes man invisible and commands thirty six legions. The Great Grimoire names him Classyabolus, and only makes him some sort of snake which is used as a mount by Nebiros or Naberus.

Ce démon rend l'homme invisible et commande trente-six légions Le Grand Grimoire le nomme Classyalabolus, et n'en fait qu'une espèce de sergent qui sert quelquefois de monture à Nébiros ou Naberus.

Notes:

I greatly enjoy de plancy’s tone here. Glasya-labolas teaches liberal arts and also inspires murder. I also agree with de plancy in that I am not a fan of the grand grimoire. What I find fascinating about this entry is the dualistic nature of the demon. From the hyphenated name to the seemingly contradictory behavior, I think it is safe to say that duality is an essential component of this demon. The comparison to gemini is not lost, and there are in fact 12 infernal presidents. This line of questioning will require additional research.

My initial theory is that Glasya-labolas is a sort of conjoined twin type situation

This admittedly throws a wrench into my theory that presidents serve as part of the legal framework of hell. Someone who alternately advocates for love and murder wouldn’t exactly make sense as a notory public. Though, I could see argument for a sort of mercurial infernal bureaucrat who deals with the human end of things. Alternately responding with compassion and murderous zeal when all one wants is to renew their infernal drivers license.

Brand of Duality - Through a short ritual and a small blood sacrifice, the marked is able to produce a temporary exact double of themself, bound to the marked’s will. The clone must be properly banished before roughly six hours have passed or they will rapidly degenerate and gain a will of their own.
