The 9 is called Oze, & he hath power when he receaveth shape of a man to teache the 7 artes

liberall & to tell all seecrets, to chaunge a man into another shape, & he appeareth in liknes of a

leoparde.

FROM THE LESSER KEY

OSE, or VOSO. – The Fifty-seventh Spirit is Oso, Ose, or Voso. He is a Great President, and appeareth like a Leopard at the first, but after a little time he putteth on the Shape of a Man. His Office is to make one cunning in the Liberal Sciences, and to give True Answers of Divine and Secret Things; also to change a Man into any Shape that the Exorcist pleaseth, so that he that is so changed will not think any other thing than that he is in verity that Creature or Thing he is changed into. He governeth 3024 Legions of Spirits, and this is his Seal, etc.

Ose [Oze] is a great president, and commeth foorth like a leopard, and counterfeting to be a man, he maketh one cunning in the liberall sciences, he answereth truelie of divine and secret things, he transformeth a mans shape, and bringeth a man to that madnes [or, “drives insanity away”], that he thinketh himselfe to be that which he is not; as that he is a king or a pope, or that he weareth a crowne on his head, Durátque id regnum ad horam [and makes the kingdom of time endure (?).]

Oze, great president of Hell. He presents himself in the shape of a leopard or that of a man. He makes man skilled in the liberal arts. He answers about divine and abstract things, metamorphoses man, makes him insane to the point of making him believe he's a king or an Emperor. Oze wears a crown, but his reign only lasts one hour per day.

Notes:

Let us start with the name. Ose seems to be derived from the Latin “Os” meaning both “bone” and “mouth”. This is yet another demon with frustratingly little information as to their origins and roles, however the description of his power is fairly unique. Inducing short delusions of grandeur is truly fascinating, yet I cannot for the life of me find any more information as to his origins. Even the earliest citations for him are infuriatingly scant!

I could see Ose as having a role in the ceremonial movement of power in hell. The coronation of lesser positions, commemoration of mortal positions in Limbo. I would speculate that he’s the guy who shakes your hand if you get elected to the city council in Limbo.

Brand of Delirium - Making eye contact with a target will give the marked a sort of hypnotic control over them. For exactly one hour, the target can be made to believe that they are something or someone other than themself. The change is limited to the targets own understanding. A hypnotized target will not know information that they did not already know, nor will they be able to replicate a person they have not met. The target will default to believing that they are a king if the marked asks a request that cannot be completed.
