I think discord is the right choice but my concern is how unruly larger servers can be to manage and moderate. Make sure u have a robust mod squad because you work hard enough as it is!

Perhaps the title (and maybe notes after the fact, if anyone has any spare spoons to do them?) could be posted here as well, as Discord appears to be winning by a healthy margin?
