Tabs for this week's Colin Greenwood lesson

Hey friends! Peep these tab snippets from Colin's bass playing on a number of Radiohead tracks. I'll be releasing a full video discussion later in the week.

When I’m transcribing/learning a new bass part I like to use one of those slow-downer programs and raise the pitch an octave. Everybody else sounds like a chipmunk but the bass pops out nice and clear. Try that if you haven’t already and if you tell me I’m wrong I’m wrong. I don’t hear it every time around but definitely in the first verse. The best thing would be film of Colin playing it but that’s too much to hope for. Half the time you can’t even see where he is😂

I know what you mean, but I think it may just be overtones from the rest of the arrangement/Ondes/acoustic? I felt like that was the logical way it would go too, but based on what I’ve seen and heard listening I think he just repeats the C#! 🤔 for example: https://youtu.be/TZIUtnWwcKg

I'm not sure I'd die on this hill, but I'm almost positive that in How To Disappear, sometimes Colin is playing a D instead of that C# under the Dadd9 chord. For example I hear it pretty clearly at 0:28 and at 0:41.

Oh man this is great. I’m a converted bass player myself. Colin definitely doesn’t get enough credit, especially for his part in the live band. Looking forward to seeing what you have to say about these parts

Splendid!
