Press Freedom Award
Added 2025-04-05 10:16:09 +0000 UTC[NEWSROOM FEATS] Bulatlat is honored to be long-listed in the Press Freedom Award category of One World Media 2025. This means a lot to us as we persevere in doing journalism for the people amid the state-sponsored attacks.
Bulatlat is the only newsroom long-listed in the Philippines. This is the second time Bulatlat has been selected in the same category.
Our legal fight against the website blocking order of the Philippine government through the National Telecommunications Commission and National Security Council is still ongoing. Since June 2022, 27 websites of media outfits, progressive groups, and revolutionary organizations have been blocked.
Our website has been accessible after the local court granted its petition but the rest of the 26 sites are still censored. We are pushing for the nullification of the order.

Each year, the One World Media Awards celebrates the finest journalism and documentary filmmaking from across the Global South. For the 2025 Awards, they received 559 entries from over 100 countries.
