...just some wise words of an old man. :-))
But it's true. Some people are being overwhelmed by their emotions when arguing. While there is nothing wrong with a hefty debate at times it still should always stay fair and rational. Unfortunately emotions tend to subdue rational thoughts (which is true for most aspects of life) and in the consequence those people are getting personal (on a not-so-nice-level), unfair, loud or just plain stupid :-))
I try to think things through and talk only when i have to something of real importance. At least in RL
EDIT: i just noticed you were referring to Tea's original post, not mine - sorry!!! I was blabbering and blabbering while being completely unaware. Stupid me. ^^

That’s a unusually rational thought I’m not used to seeing on the internet. It’s really refreshing!

Dear Tea,
thank for taking up the cudgels for us simple-minded heathens :-)))
No, seriously: thank you! And i apologize beforehand to you and all other users! This is going to get somewhat lengthy but it burdens and bothers me for quite some time now.
I have to admit that over the course of the last couple of years i was at times ashamed being a man. And unsettled.
That is because of what some men had said and done and what some women may think or had publicized. IMHO there is a lot of misunderstanding on both sides.
For example: do we have a problem with gender based payment in jobs? I guess so, yes.
Wages shouldn't be paid based on the gender of a person but of what they are capable of, what they have learned and what they do. Adequate payment according to the job.
Do i have a problem with women / in leading roles? Heck no! My superior is a woman and she's doing a hell of job; maybe better than i or some other colleagues could ever do.
Is it out-dated or just some kind of machismo to open a door or take the coat of a women (e. g. in a restaurant)? No, i don't think so. It's what a "gentlemen" should do. Be open-eyed and lend a hand when necessary. It's how i was raised. I'm just trying to be polite, not trying to oppress somebody.
On the other hand: i live in a country in central europe were some bad and nasty things happend recently.
Things involving violence towards women. And even worse things. But i would like to think that the ones who did what they did should not be called men but monsters. For the lack of better word. These individuals are first and foremost criminals. But to say that all or most men think and act the same way is short-sighted and just not true. (Most) men are being labeled as potential criminals and cave men. This is what makes me both sad and angry. I'm just a humble guy who has his own problems (stress on the job, anxiety to name a few) but is still trying to be nice and polite to the people around him. All people. Equally.
Men and women should treat each other with respect, dignity and courtesy in public or on the job. As equals.
Women on the other hand should men sometimes still let us help if we offer to. It's no sign of weakness or that we think that you are weaker or inferior. Not one bit.
...i could go on but my english isn't that good :-) i've had a long day and already written more than i wanted.
Once again my apologies!

I'm an equalist. I just want everyone to be equal and happy, no matter what. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same, but I'm happy that one of my favorite content creators feels the same way and thinks that way too. I'm too scared to voice my opinion, in case of fights or disagremnts. I'm not an instigator of conflict. I wish all to be happy and have a great life.

As a Canadian, I lean towards assuming people are good. Also manifests as coming up with excuses in my own head for them.

"In-group preference." Scary bid-ness

It needed to be said. I've noticed these instances, as well.

I know. Wouldn’t want people to think, that I, a woman, could ever care about the needs and rights of the heathen males! 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😆

Wow, just be careful, the internet has never been fond of free thinking.
