She is hungry and determined and has been standing up for several hours already. And so she makes her way over with her lunch, with a degree of difficulty. This leaves poor Listener, the odd man out, to sit and guard the acquired merch until they return. Listener is too polite to complain about it or refuse and so sits in an uncomfortable, lonely silence surrounded by a crowd of people having a much more enjoyable experience. Eventually Speaker is able to make her way over and asks to use the empty side beside them. Listener's anxiety immedietly kicks in at the pretty girl speaking to them out of nowhere but maintains a decent enough facade while agreeing to her request. Speaker is grateful to be off her feet and able to decompress for a while and, after tucking into her packed lunch, notices the mass of shopping bags brimming with items that Listener is trying to keep together. As more outgoing people are sometimes known to do, she decides to ask about them and idle conversation ensues. They talk about their days up to that point and maybe she asks questions about particular items of merch that catch her eye or are based on something shes seen around but isn't familiar with. They chat about various things, Speaker is eager to learn more about Listener's interests from seeing their passion and Listener manages to make Speaker laugh more than once despite their awkward nerves. After a while she relealizes the time and decides to get back to her friend, still working alone, but not before asking for Listener's contact details so they can chat more at some point. Speaker leaves easier than she arrived as the crowd in the cafeteria has somewhat thinned out and Listener watches her in a sort of stunned reverie of what just happened. Listener likely has a new crush but definitely a brighter day. Sorry the post is so long. Problems of being a writer. It's hard to stop once you've started and I kept going back to add parts. There are still probably things I left out from the first time I wrote it but nevermind. Tried to keep it as more of an outline of the idea rather than write a whole script so it might have to much or too little detail.
