Game Development Log 01

As I mentioned before, I finally have time to work on game development now. Since this project was originally created in 2019, it's evident this will present some challenges. Therefore, the first priority is to address these issues.

First, my drawing skills from back then are unbearable to my current self, so I need to update the original illustration (as shown in the attached image). Fortunately, there weren't many completed image before the project was shelved.

Then, considering that 1080p and 2K displays have become the norm, I'm weighing whether to upscale from 1024x768 to 1152x864. While this would necessitate remastering maps and UI components, it essentially just enlarges CG assets without tangible quality improvements – as RPG Maker's pixel-scaling architecture remains fundamentally unchanged.

The remaining question is whether to upgrade from MV to MZ, though personally I don't see much difference between the two engines. Well,I guess that's not really crucial anyway...

My current goal is to finish a playable demo before summer arrives – fingers crossed I don't get too carried away with writing the storyline...
