Routing Issues/Sims Can’t Access an Item

If you try to get your Sim in bed, sit on a sofa or use a computer at a desk etc, and it gives you the weird icon suggesting that something’s in their way: that means there‘s a footprint on a decorative item (likely clutter) blocking access. Footprints refer to coding that tells the Sim whether or not they can walk through it. That’s why you’ll see Sims sometimes walk straight through chairs yet walk around a ball on the floor. If this happens and they can‘t walk through it, try deleting the miscellaneous decorations on the surface: in the master bedroom, delete the blanket. If it’s a sofa, delete the throw pillows. If your sim won’t sit at a desk when trying to access a computer, tell them to sit in the chair first then click the computer afterwards.
