TLDR: This is still wireframe, a lot of polish and changes to be applied.
Ok guys, I know there has been a lot of interest in the RTS aspect of the game.
There is still a lot going on, i'm changing a ton of aspects (and a lot of the panels, displays, layout are wireframe and will change)
... but that said, this is roughly how it will play out.
The way the game works is similar to traditional RTSs except a couple of things.
1. Speed of travel becomes super slow across the void - just like in real life. Speed of light impacts your strategy.
2. You are a real commander, you don't micromanage one unit. Each blip is a squadron, when they meet a battle panel overlay appears. You see your hundreds of units fight, you have control, but it's more limited to sliders, buttons etc. You still drag, select, command to move - but its at squadron level.
I'll show a battle scene soon - honestly, I think the battle scenes are super fun to watch and quite original.
