Daily Update 5/11
Added 2024-05-12 09:25:16 +0000 UTCSo obviously for this next 2 weeks I am working on MH, I have made some changes to the game that people have asked for, reworked the entire home map set up, figured why be halfassed about it. So instead of making the 15 image buttons with idle and hover images... so 30 images total I was like hmm what if we had the image buttons changed based on the time of day? And so then it became 90 images... Yup that was sure loads of fun.... Also added a new font, removed the panty curser, made it possible to rename the player again, and then spent a bit of time reworking the damage formula in battles and found a way to link the players attack with the power of a skill so that the damage is calculated together. Then after doing that I divided the skill damage by 100. Essentially making you 100x weaker than you were before. So those little bats take abit longer to fight now. But as you level up you gain attack making them gradually easier. Which is the vibe we were aiming for. You know actually feel like your progressing... Though I need to do a much longer playthrough of the battles because idk If the higher ranked missions would be possible with this damage formula so some things may still need to be tweaked a bit. But I figured I would show you all some images of how things are looking now so you can let me know what you think. Check out the images below and let me know what you think. Anything else you think should be changed let me know. Tomorrow I will be working on making every NPC currently in the town at the random times of day have a couple of random bits of dialogue they will spout at you when you click on them. Haven't done that yet only because I need to recreate all those characters in the studio since I wasn't originally planning to use them again. Also going to use the avatar system I already had implemented in the game that I used on things like talking Eris at Dawn in front of house. For their dialogue.
So essentially it will be, highlight NPC, click NPC, Image of NPC shows up on screen, NPC comments on something, Player clicks the screen, dialogue and image disappear. I'm going to use it for some background storytelling elements. IDK how many people have noticed but there already was a bit of that in the game already. At dawn there is a boy in background leaning against a fence just waiting. He waits from Dawn till Dusk. Then at Dusk he is talking to someone. The thought when I placed him there, was he is waiting for his crush to come home. When she finally comes home he asks how her day is trying to get the nerve to ask her out. I thought it was cute little addition. So the plan is going to be when you click on him at random points through the day you will get lines of dialogue like "Man, Today is going to be the day!", "I hope I don't chicken out again...." stuff like that. I figure it will add a bit of life to the world. Also check that new image for the Home icon, just ripped that from the latest dubbed episode lol.
