Chapter 60: The High Priest Died of Rage

Ever since Olivia inherited the position of the Holy High Priest, she had not had any physical contact with anyone for many years, let alone being patted on the shoulder by a man. It was obvious that she was mistaken for an ordinary nun who was startled, but she had no reason to get angry.

After all, it was she who had disguised herself as a nun.

"By the way, have you seen a Necro Cult member pass by here?" Mike roughly described the appearance, obviously intending to continue the pursuit.

Olivia raised her pale finger and pointed to a narrow corridor.

"Oh, thank you."

Mike patted her shoulder for the second time in a short period.

Olivia hesitated to speak.

"Damon, Rose, I need backup!"

Mike spoke into the earpiece, "Bring people over here immediately, there's..."

Before he could finish, his earpiece was removed.

"Hey, what are you doing?"

Mike was startled, as he hadn't seen the other person's movement.

Olivia looked up, and a faint light could be seen on the cracked dome above. As long as the underground did not shake violently again, there would be no falling rocks, only scattered sand drifting down.

"I can't let anyone else know I'm here. I don't trust anyone."

Olivia thought for a moment and said calmly, "The High Priest has been attacked, and it's obvious that multiple forces are colluding. If we, the guards, are discovered by those forces, we won't be able to escape death."

This attack today was carefully planned. The enemy took advantage of the fact that the top-level combat forces in the city were busy preparing for the ceremony and detonated a piece of the Celestial Being's flesh and blood, attempting to kill her.

Fortunately, she was well prepared.

If the Holy High Priest disappeared, many people in the city would become restless.

Some would search for her, and some would try to take advantage of the chaos to kill her.

Although those people might not be able to see through her identity.

But they would most likely not spare even the people around the High Priest.

Mike glanced at her attire and appearance, realizing she was from the Sanctuary.

"Then what should we do? I can hide you somewhere?"

He pondered for a moment, "I can dig a hole for you!"

Olivia glanced at him, and the idea of digging a hole didn't seem very dignified.

Moreover, she wouldn't crawl into any hole.

"This place is about to explode."

Olivia said seriously, "Now, in the name of the Sanctuary, I declare that you have been requisitioned, soldier. Immediately take me to the source of the explosion, and I will cut it off at the root."

To ensure credibility, she emphasized, "This is the order of the High Priest."

"I saved you, and you didn't even say thank you, but instead started ordering me around."

"Hmm... Thank you."

Mike was a bit speechless and didn't know what to say, but he confirmed, "Stopping the explosion is very dangerous. Are you sure?"

Olivia said calmly, "This is my duty. I must ensure that the underground does not explode, or many innocent people will die."

Okay, with such an irrefutable reason, they could only choose to cooperate for now.

Olivia cooperated with this guy out of trust in him.

Given Mike's hatred for beasts, it was unlikely that he would betray them.

And Mike didn't even have any expectations for this nun. He still wanted to act independently.

A mere nun could stay behind to look after the injured.

"Can you keep up with my speed?"

Mike turned and ran, "Let's go."

Accompanied by a series of electric arcs, the youth dashed off.

Olivia glanced at the remaining survivors and instructed, "Stay where you are, and don't move. Help will come for you soon, don't worry."

With that, a holy light emanated from her body, and she quickly caught up.

Mike originally thought the nun wouldn't be able to keep up, but in an instant, he heard the wind and the chilling fragrance of lotus flowers behind him.

Wow, she's pretty fast.

No wonder she's one of the High Priest's attendants.

Olivia ran through the dark corridor, her starry eyes becoming more brilliant. Her nun's robe billowed in the wind like ocean waves, carrying a bloody scent.

The walls on both sides were bloody and about to explode.

She felt a familiar sense of excitement.

"Why do you look so happy?"

Mike found it a bit strange.

"It's been a long time since I've been out and about."

Olivia replied, "Of course I'm happy."

Mike was even more curious, "Aren't you afraid of dying?"

He wasn't afraid of death because he had been hovering on the edge of life and death for too long, numbing himself to it. Even if his life was only a second, he wanted to live it to the fullest.

Olivia hummed, "I'm from the Sanctuary. I've glimpsed the distant future and my demise. The probability of me dying here is very, very low."

Mike didn't expect the Sanctuary to have such capabilities.

He, however, didn't want to see his future at all.

He was afraid of the predetermined, unchangeable things.

"Okay, nun."

He couldn't help but ask, "What's your name?"

Olivia paused for a moment, "Olivia."

Another depressing silence followed.

Mike continued to stare at her without saying a word.

Until Olivia felt bewildered, "What's wrong?"

Mike frowned and asked, "Why didn't you ask my name?"

Olivia didn't know what to say for a moment.

Because she knew everything.

She even knew the names of the boy's parents.

"What's your name?"

"Mike, the rank of Corporal."

"Okay, Corporal."

At the end of the corner, two Necro Cult disciples appeared, obviously the ones who had been ambushing them.

They were gripping giant axes, howling as they swung them down!

Clang!

Mike raised his right hand and solidly blocked the two axes' strikes, his undying body's hardness already surpassing that of alloy, not fearing this level of physical attack at all.

Sparks exploded, and with a fierce sweeping kick, he struck them down like an axe blade!

The two Necro Cult disciples were immediately hit and smashed into the wall.

Mike reached out with both hands, locking their throats, and squeezed hard.

The enemies were killed.

"It's fucking strange, who would have thought that there would be such a large space underground in the underground district, who the hell built this place?" Mike shook his hand, this place was endless as far as the eye could see, and he didn't know how many more ambushes were ahead, so he had to be very careful.

Olivia glanced at his right arm as if she had noticed something.

But she didn't say anything, but instead looked around in all directions and said, "Clearly, this place has some history, in the past decades or even a hundred years. Someone has specially opened up this place underground, but what specific purpose it was used for is unknown."

Mike frowned, "I'm new here, so I don't know. You guys have been living here for so long, but you're still in the dark, that's too much, isn't it?"

He couldn't help but ask, "Doesn't the High Priestess know?"

Olivia shook her head and explained seriously, "The High Priestess has only been in this city for three years, and she has a lot of things to do normally, she has no energy to pay attention to other things. And this place is strange, even if she wants to investigate, she can't find anything."

"Is she that busy?"

"The High Priestess often dies from overwork."

"Then the old lady had a hard time, she was just blown up to death..."

"Old lady?"

Olivia was stunned, and an uncontrollable sense of annoyance flashed in her eyes.

Her chest heaved slightly, and she fell silent.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, the High Priestess may not have been blown up to death."

"Then how did she die?"

"Maybe she was lectured to death."

Mike's brain started to have question marks, suspiciously asking, "What the hell, how could she be lectured to death? You're not the High Priestess, are you?"

Olivia decisively denied, "No."

"Reasonable, the High Priestess shouldn't be as weak as you."

"..."

Olivia waved her hand to signal him to step back, and a holy light began to shimmer in her pupils.

She closed her eyes and opened them again!

The dark underground corridor seemed to have changed in her eyes, with countless mysterious patterns flickering on the hard walls, including the exposed fascia and flesh that emitted a faint, barely noticeable web-like texture.

She immersed herself in her vision, raising her hand to piece together those patterns.

A strange pattern gradually took shape in her eyes.

She seemed to have understood something, and her gaze suddenly became very deep.

But Mike couldn't see anything, not even the holy light in her eyes.

He just felt that this woman was possessed and was waving her hands in a very strange way.

"Hey, are you alright?"

Mike gently pushed her.

Olivia suddenly snapped out of her vision, feeling bewildered again.

Her spiritual vision had been interrupted!

You little guy...

But seeing his concerned expression, she couldn't get angry at him.

"Hidden Sanctuary."

Olivia said coldly, "No wonder this underground relic has never been discovered, it has existed for many years and has been given a Hidden Sanctuary, if it weren't for accidentally stepping into this place, it would be almost impossible to discover its existence. This is one of the powers wielded by the Third Generation Sacred Sovereign if I'm not mistaken... this place was built by him."

Mike was taken aback, suddenly remembering that the remnants of the Reincarnation Department also had similar sanctuaries.

This made him no longer doubt that this woman was talking nonsense.

Olivia looked at him for a long time, then suddenly fell silent.

"What's wrong?"

"Why didn't you ask me who the Third Generation Sacred Sovereign is?"

There's nothing to ask about that.

Mike answered, "Constantine, the one from The Holy Mountain."

Olivia glanced at him, "He's not that big, but he knows a lot."

Mike smiled, "High praise, high praise."

"Do you know if he has another name?"

Olivia turned and walked into the darkness, "The Rebel King."

Mike raised an eyebrow, "The Rebel King?"

This term seemed to be a derogatory one.

"I... the High Priest has experienced the three eras of the Sacred Sovereign, namely the late period of the First Sacred Sovereign, the era of the Second Sacred Sovereign, and the era of the Third Sacred Sovereign."

Olivia said faintly, "Only the description of the Third Sacred Sovereign is the scarcest, because his existence is a taboo, and has been erased by the higher-ups of the Akashic Records. Even Constantine's creation of a new system for the Evolved has been covered up."

Mike vaguely remembered his little girl explaining this to him before.

To become a Sacred Sovereign, one must have violence that transcends the secular and divine power.

To achieve this, you naturally need something that others don't have.

The answer lies in the new system created on the path of evolution.

The First Sacred Sovereign created Divination.

The Second Sacred Sovereign created Praxis.

And the Third Sacred Sovereign?

"Now, seeing these Necro Cult followers who have integrated Dark Matter into their bodies, as well as the secret sanctuary in this underground relic, I realize what they are trying to replicate."

Olivia pointed around, "Constantine conducted his research here, and the flesh and blood left behind is most likely his. If you don't believe it, going deeper may reveal more evidence."

Mike was shocked, "Research on what?"

"Aberrant arts."

Olivia's voice was soft, but her gaze was unfathomable.
