"Stark, did you see that?" Cap asked.
"Seeing, still working on the believing. Where's Banner?" Tony replied.
"He's right here."
"Perfect."
Taking cover behind a car, we assessed the situation.
"They are fish in a barrel down there," Cap said, scanning the area.
"Yeah, we've got the same situation on the east side," I pointed to the Chitauri infantry across the way.
"We've got this. You can go."
"You think you can hold them off?"
"Captain, it would be my genuine pleasure," Hawkeye said, shooting an arrow at the Chitauri soldiers.
"See you soon." I jumped over the bridge, speeding off in the opposite direction of Captain America.
Opening my gun compartments, I pulled out my prized Desert Eagles.
Spidey Sense granted me auto-aim (heh, OP as hell). Using my Spidey Sense to effectively form a gun kata, I dropped bodies wherever I passed. Each shot took a life with it as I performed unimaginable feats of acrobatics and marksmanship on the streets of Midtown Manhattan.
With both arms diagonal to each other, I executed an upside-down rotating shot, gunning down four Chitauri soldiers—three wielding staffs and the last one with a blaster.
"Get to the subways, stay off the streets!" I told the panicking civilians.
'I hope someone got that on camera.'
Putting my empty guns back into their compartments, I grabbed the Chitauri weapons, webbing them together, and continued toward April's location.
I was helping people while hunting for Chitauri tech. I now had the staff and blaster, and what I needed next was a chariot, some cores, and a Chitauri corpse. The Chitauri had amazing mind-to-machine interface tech and exoskeletons. I wanted to get all the tech I could and take apart a body to understand how it worked.
I didn’t have to wait long for my prayers to be answered. I spotted two Chitauri chariots branch away from the squad and head my way.
Shooting a webline at the nearest chariot, I yanked hard, causing it to smash into the side of a building, turning its passengers into a broken mess of flesh and bones.
The second chariot opened fire at me, but none of the shots hit due to my Spidey Sense and excellent reflexes.
Running toward another building with the chariot hot on my tail, I jumped, landing on the side of the office building, and started running up the side. They never anticipated such an action, making them pause momentarily. Reaching a level with the chariot, I extended my stingers and went to work.
Jumping from the building, I landed on the chariot. In a swift motion, I stabbed the pilot through the neck, pushing his head down and causing the chariot to descend. I webbed soldier #3 on the face, kicking his activated blaster arm toward soldier #2, which went off and burned a hole through its chest, causing it to collapse. I jammed my other stinger through soldier #3's chin, going all the way up to its head, killing it. Using my stinger still in the pilot's neck to steer the chariot back up again, I picked up the weapons and used web lines to tow the crashed chariot toward April's location.
"Arc, we're converging at the agreed location," Widow announced.
"I'll be there."
"Land it here, April." The Quinjet steadily landed with the doors open as I loaded up all my Chitauri loot, which amounted to two chariots, three bodies, and six weapons.
"All set, boss?"
"Yep," I confirmed as the Quinjet closed up and ascended back into the air, heading to one of the bases, all in stealth mode to avoid detection.
"Tell Banner to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you."
'Here we go.' "April, cue the music" (Cinderella Man by Eminem).
"Dr. Banner, now might be a really good time to get angry."
"That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry."
Banner turned around and began to transform into the Hulk.
With a mighty roar, he punched the incoming Leviathan with such force that it tipped over vertically. Have you ever wondered what it would be like when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? This was the closest thing to reality you'll see.
The crunch of the metal as it dented under the Hulk's fist.
The large body of the Leviathan formed a shadow over us as it tipped over.
Cap drew Widow under his shield, Hawkeye hid behind a car, and Thor spun his hammer.
'Nope.' "Hi, Cap, your shield really is great," I said, holding onto him from behind. I could hear Widow chuckling as guts and purple blood rained down from the blown-up carcass of the Leviathan.
We stood back up, with everyone assuming their positions.
'Maximum cool.'
The Chitauri infantrymen roared in anger, but all their roars were outdone by that of the Hulk.
It was nice and all, but I might go deaf at this rate.
"OK, listen up. Until we can close that portal, our priority is containment. Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you've got the perimeter. Anything that gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or turn it to ash."
"Wanna give me a lift?" Barton turned to Tony.
"Right, better clench up, Legolas," Tony quipped.
Cap pointed at Thor. "Thor, you gotta try to bottleneck that portal, slow them down. You've got the lightning—light the bastards up."
Turning to me, he said, "Arc, take the mid-levels. Drop those that aren't either on the ground or high enough for Thor."
"Alright," I said, webbing myself toward the buildings.
"You and me keep the fight here on the ground," he said, nodding to Widow and himself. "And Hulk smash," he added, causing the Hulk to grin viciously.
There was one piece of tech I hadn’t used yet from day one: my lethal lines. I decided to use it only when it mattered. Looking at it in action, purple blood flooded my side of the streets as the Chitauri on the speeding chariots still hadn’t learned their lesson.
My web-made razor wire was so thin it was virtually invisible, leaving passing Chitauri decapitated or cut into pieces as they dropped to the floor.
A few lucky ones escaped the wire, but they became easy pickings for me.
"Arc, I’m coming to your corner," Tony announced.
"Watch out for the wirelines," I reminded him.
Iron Man maneuvered through my razor wire while the accelerating chariots following him were vivisected by the wires.
"Great job, Arc," Cap complimented.
"Thanks, Cap."
Due to the large casualties on my side, I drew the attention of a Leviathan.
Thor was with the Hulk, taking down another one, and Iron Man was helping Captain below. This one was up to me until someone was free to help out.
"The Leviathan is coming my way."
"Hold out as long as you can; help is on the way."
Leaping off the building, I watched as it crashed through the wire, destroying it.
I swung toward a lamppost, putting some distance between us.
Standing on the ground, I tuned everything out, focusing only on my bioelectricity. I imagined it gathering, forming a ball that gradually grew larger.
Opening my eyes, my sight was filled with orange. I saw the bioelectricity of other organisms—from the large mass of bioelectricity that was the Leviathan reaching me to the very grass on the ground. My bioelectricity crackled erratically, growing more intense by the second, and I hovered off the ground as yellow currents danced over my body.
I could feel the hot breath of the Leviathan as it approached me with its mouth wide open.
'Now!'
BOOOOMMM! Everything went quiet after that, absolute silence, as I fell from the air, feeling comfortable in an embrace of some sort. By the time I came to, I realized I was caught by Thor.
"Thanks for the save, Thor."
"Do not mention it, Man-Spider. How do you wield lightning without a weapon?"
"It's part of my abilities."
"Is your father a god?" he asked.
"No, he's not."
"You must have a background involving mythology." He was mumbling some words about totems and whatnot, but I was focused on the Leviathan.
The Leviathan no longer had a face. It was just a partially burnt body with massive amounts of electricity still running over it.
If you haven't guessed, I used my one-shot kill ability, an ability I had never used until that day: my Mega Bio-Blast.
It was taxing to use, but the results were satisfactory. I had never tried using it due to its destructive force, but seeing it in action now, it was nothing short of epic.
I saw the Avengers' sights separated between me and the portal. Since Tony wasn't here, that must mean the nuke had been launched, and Stark was outside the portal.
All the Chitauri and Leviathans just dropped dead. It was like a giant plug was pulled from the socket.
They just stopped functioning; any form of biological activity ceased as their hive mind was destroyed. I could have sworn I heard jubilation.
Cap ordered Nat to close the portal, and at the last moment, Tony came out through it, rapidly falling.
"Somebody catch him!" I shouted.
Although I was still recovering from my bioblast, I could still act, but doing so would take away from the Hulk's moment.
The Hulk burst out of nowhere, catching Iron Man mid-fall and cradling him against his chest like a baby, using his own body to cushion their landing.
As we approached Tony’s fallen body, the atmosphere grew gloomy when we discovered he wasn’t breathing.
I used my bioelectricity to jump-start his heart.
"Haah! Ha!" Tony gasped for air, taking deep, heavy breaths.
"What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me," he said between breaths.
"We won."
"Hell yeah we did! I told you so, Thor. Humans fight back harder."
"True, Man-Spider. Your people make fine warriors."
"Yes, we do. Hey, has anyone tried shawarma? There’s a place just down the block that I want to check out."
We gathered around the crawling Loki.
"If it’s all the same to yo—"
He couldn’t finish his sentence because I webbed his mouth shut.
"Now, let’s get that shawarma."
