Can you recommend a particular corn dog?

Heyo, great maps, thanks! Do you know some nice burger places?

Daniel Dakhno

Would love to see what boat cruises along the river are good!

Alana Ah Tani

Hi, Love this! Could you possibly make a list of best places to go to drink wine, particularly Czech wine? Thanks!

MJ

I just came back from 5 days in Prague. The maps were really helpful, aswell as all of the videos ofcourse. Thanks a lot for that! I really enyoyed my time in the city and want to come back as soon as possible. Couple of things: - Although I never had to use cash, check with your bank how much the currency exchange percentage is, if you pay by card. Mine is 3,38% which I find quite high. - I never had a bad meal, and the service always was nice aswell, so I usually tipped 10%. However, at Café Imperial, they added the 10% before I even wanted to ask them to add it. I don't quite like this way of handling your tips, therefore I don't really recommend this place. - In these 5 days, I ran 3 times 10-15km. One of those runs was in Divoká Šárka, which was a really nice trail run! I don't find it in the "running spots" map, but can definitly recommend this place to walk or run. - Some places to check out that are not on the maps aswell: Trattoria Cicala (incredible Italian place. No pizzas but very tasty pasta), Bibimbap Korea (very cheap and tasty Korean food, near Lipanska tram stop), SASY The Original (can't imagine a better pizza place in downtown Prague.... also the tiramisu OMG).

Jesse Hertoghs

A map for parking your car would be the best, because its so hard to find a good parking that does not cost 200kč/hour and is not max 3h

Wooop

Hi, anyone know of a good laundromat ideally close to the Masarykovo station?

Adam Walter

This is so great: we saw it in honest guide videos - in Prague, we buy three day ticket on main train station, with this ticket you can use metro, trams, and buses. So all public transport. It is amazing! there is a special historic tram 42 if you like to see the citys best. Also included in your 3 day ticket. This ticket was the best tip for me, cause I love trams and the city is big, now we even don't take expensive hotels in the old city center, because the trams are fast and driving also late, so no problem to get home. ❤️ Highly recommended from me 👍

Modri odtenek

I wish I had honest guide for every city I visit. Going to Napoli next year and I can't find anythig similar to your honest guide there. I loved my stay in Prague because of your videos so very much that I visit now once a year 😁 💞 you guys are great!

Modri odtenek

I stumbled into your videos on YouTube a few weeks ago after my husband and I decided to finally book tickets to Prague - we cannot WAIT to check out some of these places. Thanks for all the work you do helping us new tourists.

Dena Tullis

Love it thank you!

Martin

Hello! This is my second time travelling to Prague and I always come back with a bunch of Mead, issue is that all the mead I get is from the Mead museum and no where else, they open at strange hours and I would love to have more options, if you could make a mead or even "not beer" alcohol maps it would be amazing.

Gigi

fyi, Hany Bany from the beer maps is cash only

Michael Osowski

Hi There, me and girlfriend are traveling next weekend. Any fun event happening we should know about ? We are planning to do free walking tour ? Is it worth it or should we follow your guide. We are here for three days only. Thanks for keeping it so organised. Thanks 🙏🏻

Sarin Sudhakaran

Also wondering if there is any sort of map showing how to use the metro as a way to do a day tour around. Like taking the metro to a few museums, then catching the metro to go see some other things, as opposed to just wandering around the old part of Prague.

M Erch

Noticed that the city museum is still closed. Any idea when it will open?

M Erch

Hi, beautifull maps, it would be cool to have a toilets map (maybe free or the goods one even if they are paid)

Davide Rege Colet

I would love restaurant recommendations that offer gluten free options (other than just salad or steak 😔)

Michael Osowski

I don't belive that there's nothing to see and to do among "Sídliště"s in Praha, but the map is barely covering them.

Максим Песенько

Hi everyone. I have a restaurant that could be added to good czech restaurants. It's in the city center. It's prices are reasonable. The goulash was very good!! Highly recommend! Name of the spot: U Matěje Kotrby Restaurant and Bar

Bram Stedehouder

I made a Dungeons and Dragons Themed Scavenger Hunt using some of your videos :) Riddles, quests (roleplay) etc and a boatride (the one where yoy met your parents on the river). Incorperating a snack hunt (to eat on boat) and a lunch at Lokal. If anyone wants it. Travelling to Prague tomorrow and will be dressed up and enacting it on Tuesday. Once completed after testing, anyone can have it for free. Would be great with kids, just swap things out for your chosen theme. Can't wait. Coming from England, meeting friend from Prague outskirt cities.

Emily Walsh

Hi. Do you have a list of recommended museums in Prague?

Bendik

2 colas and 1 beer (0,5l) almost 28 euros.. 😅

MotoRuse

Wow I just visited another place called 'u prince' close to the clock. They charge u a tip on ur bill without asking. And overpriced like crazy!! They had a massive attitude when asked what the mandatory tip was, and said everyone has to pay it! Weird. I would avoid this place too..

MotoRuse

I'm planning to visit Czech Republic next spring! I'm really interested in the country's history (of any era, really), so it'll be really nice to have a list of must-see museums/historical spots (in your opinion). Thank you for the curation of the existing collections!

ttttiiippp

A week in prague with my boyfriend was a blast thanks to these maps!

Ida Spoor

Smenarna samiko s.r.o exchange office cash rate fine but when asking for withdraw cash with a card they said to use ATM inside building and ATM had different rates and rates was different. (Realy bad)

Currently on holiday in Prague and using your very informative guides

Andrew Barnett

We visited Prague last month and enjoyed many of the places you recommended, including Brambory restaurant. Delicious and unique! We've been highly recommending your YouTube channel. Thank you for all your hard work in providing such helpful information.

Carlos

My brother, sister and I visited Prague for the first time last week and it was absolutely amazing. Thanks in large part to all the maps and videos showing us all the beautiful spots. 5 days seems like plenty, but with all of your guides I felt like there was still so much more to experience I'll have to visit again someday. Keep up all your amazing work 💖

Tiger Ang

We just spent the day in Prague. Basically followed the Prague 101 list. Ice cream at Cream de la Crem is amazing! Thanks for the advice and knowledge!

Ron Kroetz

I’m going to Prague in a few days! This will be my second time there since 2015, and even back then I watched your videos. I’m very excited to use the maps this time around! Could you recommend some of your favorite bakeries? Thank you!

Melissa E

Hi, this is our first time in Prague, too. It's a very beautiful city. And we can do a lot with your maps. I have an idea for another map: Prague at night. What's lit up at night? For example, the TV tower, or the gas lamps, or houses with light installations.

Martin

Hi. Are the places to change money also places to withdraw money? As in better ATMs.

Øystein Ottesen

Diky za tipy Janku, Havelská Koruna a Coffee Room na Celetnej boli super!

Jaromír

I will be in Prague in a few weeks and really excited to use these maps!! I love visiting the markets a city has to offer- but in my traveling know that many times they can be filled with the touristy crap you mention in your videos. Do you have recommendations for authentic markets with local vendors? Any type- food/flea/art/etc. Thanks :)

Haleigh Cavalier

Visiting Praha for the first time on Sunday, excited!

Johan Hvidsten

We are leaving Prague today after a week walking around your city. Just want to say thanks for all you work. I hope that more people follow your videos and the old town kicks out all the touristy stuff. A thai massage room on the old town square next to the church? Really? Who goes to this places?? 🤣🤣

Iago Garcia

This one! https://maps.app.goo.gl/PVDFhqRzs64iUm5q6?g_st=ic

Honest Guide

Thank you so much, Janek and Honza, for all your videos and maps. They allowed us to experience the beauty of Prague without falling for all the tourist traps and without overpaying for disappointing experiences. Instead, we were able to get a glimpse of Prague through a locals eye which we would never have been able to do without your excellent content. Please keep up the good work ✌🏻☺️

Michael Zitzelsberger

hi i was in prague for 3 days and i have to say that your maps really helped me when i was exploring the city. i am definitely visiting prague agan because i really had an amazing experience and i loved photographing the city. thank you greetings from Slovenia

Filip Zavrl

What was the name of the Indian restaurant you liked. I saw it recently on one of the videos but can’t find it now.

Chris Brejnik

Which museums are worth it and which should I skip? There's so many in and around Prague.

Marek J

What's the story behind the wooden cottage near the R2D2 ventilation shaft? We got there expecting to find something but we found everything in the area closed so we couldn't ask. We will come back later but if you guys have any more clues we would appreciate it!

Santiago Marro

I'm going to Prague with my school class in September. Tips for large groups would be great, especially when it comes to food and (reasonably priced) excursions. Greetings from Germany!

Jens Aschenbrenner

Jídlovice Karlín is great too! I recommend BIG SMOKERS.

Mate Horvath

I visited Prague back in 2017 as a surprise destination vacation. We'd only be there for a weekend and knowing nothing, I arranged a 'free' city walk tour with a guide. At the end this young American guide recommended you. You were still quite small back then. After 8 years of watching your videos I decided to return and visit prague and the rest of the Czech Republic by train.

Marin

how about parking? r there any reasonable (and free😅) spots near the center? I am looking for a place where I can safely leave my car for a day.

Maciej Mrozek

We're here! Any breakfast recommendations?

Stu

Any recommendations on hotels for this summer? We'll be in town a couple nights. Thanks for the maps!

Ron Kroetz

Hello😁 Thank you very much for all the recommendations. We are coming to Prague for the fourth time (and only now we are taking your recommendations, Shame on us, I know😂). The city never stops to surprise us and now we have even more things to discover and explore. Thank you very much and keep up your excellent work.👏👌

Maria

Honest Guide

Parlour! Hemingway is also nice

Honest Guide

Dogs are allowed to 99 % of places

Honest Guide

I’d stay away from Cerny most but only because it’s hideous… There are no no-go zones in Prague and it’s really super safe here. Vinohrady might be the best choice as there are also plenty of playgrounds (depending on how old are your kids)

Honest Guide

Try Vagon!

Honest Guide

Cemeteries please! I know it's probably weird to most but I'm a avid taphophile. Love the history, tranquility and beautiful decay. I'll be then the week after Easter and of course will visit the Old Jewish cemetery but plan to see Olšany Cemetery Olšanské hřbitovy in Žižkov.

Pamela Coggins

Cocktail bars!

Charlotte Dawson

Prague with pets?

ereroi

Any accommodations you' d recommend (or recommend to stay away from?) in the Prague area? Heading there this July and looking for decent places to stay with wife/kids.

Josef Nemec

Hey, do you know any good rock bars in Prague?

Gregor Scott

You're absolutely right!!! Here we go: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2AnTuGCNPwU4JVUt8

Honest Guide

Hey Julianna! We are constantly updating the maps so even though it's an old post, the places in the maps are fresh (sometimes we remove some that closed or changed location but mostly we're adding you new ones). You can actually sort them by newest when you open a certain map. In terms of the public restrooms, the situation is getting more and more tricky. It's a great idea to have a map on this! In the meantime, there are two options - check out this website: https://www.wckompas.cz/ or the city's list (also in English): https://www-praha1-cz.translate.goog/seznam-verejnych-toalet/?_x_tr_sl=cs&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en Hope this helps and let me know in DMs if there's anything else I can help you with (sorry, it's easy to miss the comments here)

Honest Guide

Hey Rick! So sorry, honestly no idea about Kroměříž but same with Brno - no tourist traps there for sure as it's not as heavily visited as Prague so no worries I think!

Honest Guide

Thank YOU very much!

Honest Guide

Haven't been in a while but this has always been amazing: https://maps.app.goo.gl/7ySs8afv1HKYpsEp7 Same with Hemingway: https://maps.app.goo.gl/HsabbRxMa1H1fSeE7

Honest Guide

Hey Kat! So sorry, tt does require some courage and a "I belong here look" to enter!

Honest Guide

Hey Adrian! We have the "50 things to do in Prague" on mapy.cz but there's a reason we don't use those - we cannot add a comment why is the place on the map etc. (a huge minus). Here's the map in case you want to use it anyway: https://mapy.com/en/zakladni?moje-mapy&cat=mista-trasy&mid=668eabea3f80b9b15a6207de&x=14.4709882&y=50.0784967&z=13

Honest Guide

Great tip, will do!

Honest Guide

Hey Ali! It's getting a bit complicated lately but you're absolutily right and we will make one!!! In the meantime, there are two options - check out this website: https://www.wckompas.cz/ or the city's list (also in English): https://www-praha1-cz.translate.goog/seznam-verejnych-toalet/?_x_tr_sl=cs&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en Hope this helps!

Honest Guide

I found a nice Breakfast/brunch place called golden egg. Do nice coffee's too

HarrytheLion

Hello :) coming to your beautiful city next week from uk. Me and my husband have been a couple of times and we love it here ❤️ this will be the first time coming with our young child so if you could include public toilets in your map that would help us a lot! Thanks 😊 love your videos by the way, we've been watching them for months now, getting excited!!

Ali

Hello Janek and Honza! Second time in Prague, and love it! An idea for a map: bars/restaurants with live music! Would be great to see where the locals and non-locals go!

Gergely Hill

Thanks guys! will there be a possibility to have this also in mapy.cz or mapy.com? Trying to move to Czech/European products. Cheers!

Adrian Boscu

Went to the location of Dům U Nováků for the elevator, not letting any tourist in, closed on weekend

Kat Chatfield

Janet do you have any Cocktail Bar recommendations. Going to Prague with my mum and she loves cocktails in bar with amazing architecture. Much love

J L

Janek and Honza, do you have posts and recommendations in 2025?

J. Cespedes

Greetings from the Monterey Peninsula in California, USA. Your YouTube videos were recommended to us by my Czech relatives a few months ago and we have been watching you almost daily. I just became an Honest Sponsor yesterday! My husband Ric and I will be arriving in Praha middle of May for a several weeks trip. So far Praha, Tetin, Brno, South Bohemia are in our plans. It is my second visit and Ric’s first. Your videos are fun, informative and We appreciate you sharing your city with us! The sights, food, hidden gems, maps, scams… We have questions on the very practical subject of public bathrooms. Have you made a video about this? We look forward to seeing more of your videos as we prepare for our trip Many thanks for sharing your city and country with us! Naskládáno, 𝓙𝓾𝓵𝓲𝓪𝓷𝓷𝓪 & 𝓡𝓲𝓬

J. Cespedes

hey! I am visiting prague for work in April, will be there for a month. any suggestions on affordable rooms or apartments not far from he city centre and well connected via metro, tram or bus?

Rishi

try the HAPPY COW app. crowd sourced info for vegan and vegetarian options. works all over the world, even in places like china and Japan.

Rishi

We will be spending 4 nights in Brno, 4 nights in Kromeriz and 4 nights in Prague during September of this year. Do you have information on Kromeriz? I know it's small, but any help would be appreciated. Are there any day tour companies in any of the locations that you would recommend?

Rick Rajnoha

Thanks for all your hard work and research! Just got back from a 4 night first time visit in Prague and felt the pins where very helpful making the experience better and less touristy. We did notice on the SOUVENIRS map, the Debut Gallery at address Malè Name 458/12 appeared to be permanently closed and empty inside.

gresu

Third visit to Prague, but first with your assistance - many more hidden nuggets discovered. Thank you! If anyone reading is a whisky fan, can I commend Whiskeria bar to you? Extraordinary selection of great whiskies, intimate (small!) location, reasonable prices, and a knowledgable and very personable barkeep. At 3 in the afternoon (!) we were the only ones in there, and very well looked after. I got to try some drams I just can’t get hold of in the UK! Cheers!

Yossarian

Would love to see a map of great places to take kids with parks, playgrounds, etc.

Arial Buza

Anyone can recommend luggage storage near the main train station?

Flugcojt

Second this.

Seb Everett

Do you have a suggestion for live music ?

Renee Toma

Any vegan restaurant recommendations please? Sorry if already been asked. We're here now it's tough to find places with much variety for someone with a dairy intolerance. Thanks in advance!

Scott Rowley

Check out Pizzeria Al Tagliere - Ječná 549/5, 120 00 Nové Město. Love this little place. Owner Italian and very friendly.

DJ Martin

Spent three days in Prague with my family last week and these maps/recommendations were so, so helpful. We had great food throughout our stay, excellent beer and avoided the tourist traps (I think…) Thanks so much, guys

GLENN EBREY

Must do “hike” would be around Prokopske údolí. One of the view points is on our map. It’s called Divčí Hrady. Also the Prevalzsky horse is there.

Honest Guide

I am really not into sports, sorry, but I bet that “James Joyce” will have sports on during games (awesome bar).

Honest Guide

Hi, new here so might have already been covered. Can anyone (hopefully Janek & Hansa) recommend any sprts bars to watch English Premier League please?

Scott Rowley

Hey guys, wich night club would you recommend?

Giacomo

Also, which day trip recommendation? Or any must do hikes?

Sanyam Sethi

The look out point map is not working for me somehow. Can you share a list somehow please? With your top recommendation?

Sanyam Sethi

Hey Helena! You can definitely drop off your luggage at the Main Train Station if by any chance you'll arrive there. Depending where you stay, check out these options: https://prague.eu/cs/objevujte/uschovna-zavazadel-praha-hlavni-nadrazi/ - at the main train station https://www.easylocker.cz/?lang=cs - if you're at Mala Strana https://luggagestorageprague.com/ - if you're in the New Town (Wenceslas square etc.) There's also a new one in Perlová in this exchange office https://maps.app.goo.gl/1FEzM1jpzozsG3199?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy Hope this helps!

Honest Guide

Definitely check out this place!!! https://maps.app.goo.gl/DMh6o1suwJE6x3YY8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

Honest Guide

Hey Janek and Honza! Thanks so much for helping us have such an awesome extended weekend in Prague! We invited our two girls and their boyfriends along, too. (I visited here briefly 30 years ago and have always wanted to return.) Got some fantastic recommendations from a good friend who studied here for six months, so combined with his tips and your maps, it turned out to be a perfect trip. One of the best—and most affordable—beers was at U Černého vola. It felt like the place where old knights would've been chugging their pints! Just a heads-up, though, they don't accept credit cards. But with beer at 49 Crowns a pop, you don't need to carry much cash. 😉 Thanks again, and cheers to many more adventures! Best from Denmark,

Peter Rasmussen

Currently sat in cafe Milani having coffee. Great shout, thank you! But can't find a good focaccia place for lunch. Or anywhere that does a really good fresh home made sandwich! Can anyone recommend please!?

Samiera Hadi

Honzo and Janek, thank you for all of your fantastic recommendations - such a great resource. Question- do you (or anyone else reading this) know a secure good place to storage luggage - I'll be arriving in the morning in April but can't check in until 3pm. It's an Airbnb so no hotel reception to store luggage at. Any tips much appreciated. Helena

Helena

Where you suggest to go for the Best Svickova?

Andrzej

Me and my girlfriend absolutely love Zrno Zrnko, they have few locations, so try them out. The one in Nusle is the "base" one. You can also get the app called "Too good to go" sometimes they have a package there for 99czk ($4). (speak easy of this one please :)))

Honest Guide

Where is the Best bread bakery in Prague?

Andrzej

Hey Samiera! Once you arrive to Prague, you'll see your location in the map when using it (a blue dot). Then you can easily follow the path. Have a good one! Best Honza

Honest Guide

Thank you so much for your maps and guides! We are coming to Prague on Friday and these are invaluable! Question, the walks, how do we use maps to follow the route (directions)? It doesn't give me an option to 'start walking'. Can't wait to visit!

Samiera Hadi

Thanks for your guides! I've just come back from my first trip to Prague and had a fantastic time. Restaurace Mincovna was a real highlight with their daily menu and amazing beer. Thank you for your maps and guides. It made the trip a breeze and I will be back 😁

Progressive Penguin

This makes me smile 🩵 one of the places we can never share in a video but only here on Patreon and it makes me so happy people are finding their way there! Thanks Clare!

Thank you so much Tom!!

The building is under construction so I believe it's closed! You can find Forky's next to the Old Town Square

Honest Guide

A big thank you for your guide and map, guys! I relied on it for my whole trip and I'm so grateful. As someone who stresses about "not knowing" but also wanting to find the most authentic experiences and food in a new country - you guys were a god send! My favourite? Hospůdka U TŘÍ SEKYREK. The owner was SUCH a nice man. I was dining alone, and when I entered I wasn't sure if I had to wait to be seated. He was busy serving, and a group entered behind me and took a small table. I thought I'd lost out, but he greeted me and showed me round the corner to an empty table of 6! I said, are you sure, it's just me? He said "of course, of course!" and that was that. I ordered pickled herring (love a rollmop!) and beef goulash with bread dumplings. But first beer. Crisps were complimentary and before he set them down he'd clink cheers them together. By this point another Czech couple asked if they could share the table and of course I said yes. When he brought them beer, he also clinked them to mine. It was really nice to feel included. The couple left before I did, and after I finished my meal I was asked by another lone diner (a Czech man) if he could share the table. I agreed. The owner was seeing to another table of locals and they were laughing, taking selfies with the owner and then all shared a shot! The Czech guy at the table knew I was English from my ordering, and said to me "Us Czechs are a crazy bunch huh?"to which I replied, aren't all the best people? We then shared a really nice conversation over the rest of my meal. At the end of my meal the owner brought over a free half pint of a dark beer (delicious! Tasted like malted caramel 🤤). So I ordered another full pint, seeing as I was in good company! When I paid the bill I got a shot of plum brandy and as I left the owner gave me a massive hug, kiss on the cheek and was wished many well wishes on my travels. This genuinely was the highlight of my whole trip and I felt like I'd been a part of a true local pub community and a "proper" business owner who genuinely cares about his little pub. Another best bit? The whole bill came to the equivalent of £15. That was for 2.5 pints, a starter, main, unlimited crisps. Ridiculous. I asked the guy sat with me who spoke better English to help me tip the owner, as back home that easily would have cost me double.

Clare YDG Scammell

We had an amazing time thanks to your maps, it really made our first trip to Prague. Thank you so much Janek, keep up the fantastic work, can’t wait to visit again :)

Tom Prior

Just landed but map says not supported in the google maps

Sascha Heist

Thank-you firstly for the videos, as someone who struggles every-time they go abroad you made it a breeze! Public transport is the best I’ve ever seen (puts London to shame) I even stopped a few people from making a bad decision to pay for the hop on hop off rubbish at old town square the red umbrella people weren’t best pleased but I found it fun 🤭 I’ve managed too see everything I wanted to & more using the amazing Map/Guide on the patreon. Cafe Milani was cosy & the coffee was great & around that area we found the Crème de la Crème which had the best ice cream in the world (not just town) so good ❤️ Lzicka Cafe was really nice & again coffee was great as was the hot chocolate. Luka Lu was a amazing Restaurant great decor & the staff/owner werelovely & accommodating.(if you can give a tip of any kind they are all thankful & deserving) We took a River Cruise by Prague Boats which was waaay better than expected, we googled sunset & booked for the time roughly £14 each & the view was stunning over Charles bridge & the castle ect, i can’t recommend it enough 👍 I’ll stop there or I’ll blabber on for hours but I’ve been to many countries from America to South Africa & Prague now sits at my Number 1 spot that’s majorly down to Janek & Honza Keep doing what your doing ⭐️ Don’t buy trdelniks food 🤢

Matthew Hill

Hi, can anyone recommend the best technoesque clubs in Prague? I’ll be there in a week and I would love to experience real club culture of Prague

Michalina Gruza

Hi! Does anyone know if there's any metal/rock/punk scene somewhere in Prague? Like bars, pubs, concerts...? Thanks ;)

roger xarles

Anyone having issues with the maps, when you click them and on the google app it says link invalid

Sascha Heist

Go to a major bank. Raiffeisenbank, CSOB, etc. your own bank might kill you on the exchange rate, but you don't have a better method really.

Is there a map for ATMS that are safe to use? Just in case a place is cash only? Thank you!

I just joined today and already diving deep! I'm visiting in March. Do you know any Flea Markets by any chance?

I’ll be visiting Prague next Monday, was wondering if you had a nice Mexican spot you could recommend? Loving the list btw definitely going to visit a lot of places 😊

Cameron Straw

Hi! Love these maps! Me and my girlfriend are visiting later this year and are using these to help plan our trip. Thanks Janek :)

Kyle Cope

Depending on what you like but if you're into galleries and art, some of our favourites are DOX, Kunsthalle or National Gallery on Veletrzni (actually for one ticket, you have entry to 6 other buildings around Prague). If you're into photography, check out the exhibition of Josef Koudelka in Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague Uměleckoprůmyslové museum v Praze. National Museum is amazing (the view from the top is wow). Depending on the group size, you can try some of the escape rooms (they're in English too). Paternoster should keep you entertained for a while as well :) (Hidden gems map)

Honest Guide

For burgers, Dish, Black Dog and FatFuck are my top candidates. Here's a video where we paid them a visit (you can learn more about the fitness fries😂) Best Burger in Prague https://youtu.be/EEvrCnXwuJo Some of the places we didn't mention in the video but are absolutely worth it: Hoxton and Burgerman Dobrou chuť!

Honest Guide

Thanks for putting together these maps. I expect them to be super useful when I visit Prague for the first time early next month. If the weather is not great, what indoor activities/ places would you recommend doing?

Progressive Penguin

Sorry if I’ve missed this info within your excellent content, but are there any recommended burger places? And are any of the main tourist attractions worth paying to visit? Also, would you recommend joining any kind of walking tour for background info about the city?

Alison Trimmer

Do you have a hotel map?

Ron Yardley

Hey Kash! The route from the Old Town Square to Charles Bridge should be fine; hop on a tram at Malostranske namesti to take you to the Prague Castle (so you'll avoid the hill). This might be a great option for you: a hop on-hop off tram (a beatufiul one) https://www.dpp.cz/zabava-a-zazitky/historie-dpp/historicka-linka-c-42

Honest Guide

Hey Danny! Sorry, not sure about this. Little family owned places (boarding house) are usually on the edge of the city like https://maps.app.goo.gl/pgFF3bL1C3Juigmz6 You can search for the word "penzion" but I'm not sure where that will take you. Just try on booking. Sorry!

Honest Guide

Sad & true! Chaning it in the map, thanks for the heads up!

Honest Guide

Late to the party, I'm sorry! Have you had a chance to do some ice skating? That's my all time favourite activity!

Honest Guide

Hey Christine! Very sorry, completely missed this one. Not sure if you got it or not but if you actually wish to see a lot (a lot lot) than I think it's a good buy! If you're into seeing e.g. the Jewish quarter, the Astronomical clock tower and the Prague Castle Cathedral (plus use the public transport) than you'd get your money worth it I think! Let me know if you actually used it! Thanks! (And sorry for the cold weather)

Honest Guide

Hey Andrei, thank you so much! Also - sorry about the experience. That's probably a reason why we haven't been in years. But it's a great idea for our next patreon mini series, thank you! Hope to see you back in Prague soon! :)

Honest Guide

Unfortunately, there is a lack of rooftop bars in Prague (something we always struggle with). In summer, Střecha Radost (opens May 1st). Now - Kuchyň is kinda the only place, I mean their terrace.

Honest Guide

My dad and I will be visiting soon, he is disabled and can’t walk too far or fast. So some accessible tour ideas would be great

Kash Cor

Hello!!! Would you recommend any restaurant or bar (budget friendly always) with a nice view in Prague?

Christine

Man, this actually might be true. We ate there 3 days ago and the total was 920 CZK. We gave 1000 with tip without checking the bill. And I just checked their menu online just now and found all items we had (https://urudolfina.cz/). Sums up to 810 CZK ☹️ This sucks....

Andrei

Returned from a 4-day trip to Prague today. Amazing city and wonderful people. We had so much fun, have seen so much new stuff (~20.000 steps done each day 😊) and tried so much delicious food (no, not Trdelnik I swear). It was a pleasure using the maps, your insights and watching many videos over again 🥰 Quick tip for other travelers: If you plan on visiting the "všeobecná studovna" (map: hidden gems) do it - it's really cool to see.In the same complex (Klementinum) is also the Barock library and astronomical tower (Astronomická věž) but that's a different entrance and different admission. Most tourist seem to go there. Unfortunately, if you plan on showing up and getting the early bird discount - forget about it. The tower + library can only be visited with a guided tour, so it makes sense to pre-purchase the tickets online for a specific time. Otherwise you'll just stand in line (like we did 1.5 hours in the cold) to then find out that you can't visit it on your own and there were just only tickets for the next day left. Hundreds of people got disappointed as you lose precious time and will become frustrated.

Andrei

Your fave exchange on namesti franz kafka is closed for works

Berkin

Hi, We visited "U Rudolfina," which you listed under Czech restaurants. While we were there, we noticed two recent Google reviews mentioning scams targeting tourists, so we decided to stay cautious. After finishing our meal (which totaled around 680 CZK), I went to pay, and the waiter told me the total was 840 CZK. Surprised, I asked why. He explained, "Your food was 680, plus 10%, so the total is 840." I pointed out that the menu clearly states the price already includes the 10%, but what he was doing was adding an extra 10% on top of that. Realizing I had caught on, he quickly backtracked and asked how much I wanted to leave as a tip instead. I told him to bring the card machine, and I would enter the amount myself. It seems like this is common behavior there—they inflate the total if you're not paying attention!

Omid

Ahoj! From Maine, US. We are planning a trip back to Prague (first since college in Ostrava) this summer. Do you have a map of or recommendations for non-AirBnB -- e.g. locally owned & operated -- places to stay? This could be specific places, or neighborhoods off the tourist(y) paths.

Danny V

Hi, I'll be visiting Prague over new year with my girlfriend. Where's best to see the fireworks from?

Brendan Leay

Hello, we will be visting Prague from 13 to 19 of January. Do you think the Prague visitor pass is a legit buy? I am really consirering of having for 3 days. Thank you anyway. Your videos are really cool and helpful.

Christine

'Bistro between the lines' inside the city hall seems to have low prices

Hey! Been watching on youtube for ages and I just susbscribed as I was studying your channel haha. I'm curious if theres a map or video specfiically for winter activities in prague? I will be heading there tomorrow and super excited!!

Hi, this great work, however it would also be nice to have some cheap eats that are not tray table style restaurants.

Arthur Lehniger

Hey Wayne! Took me a long time to time to figure it out (as my kids are much younger so we're currently stuck just at the playgrounds). Honest Guide

Hey Rene! 99 % of shops and cafes etc will be closed on 25, on 26 they usually reopen (though some might remain closed as it's a national holiday). On 24, places usually close between 12-2 PM but there will be some exceptions, can't really tell in advance which ones. Most places do update their opening times on google maps. Hope this helps!

Honest Guide

Hey Jonathan! Sorry about that (also sorry the weather sucked, I know how that can ruin your time traveling). Thanks for the input, we'll definitely add this map! Thank you for your kind word and once again, my apologies! Best Honza

Hi, first of all thank you for your great content! One type of map we were hopping to see and were sad not to find is a map of indoor places to visit while it is raining/snowing, as it was during most of our visit. Thanks again and keep up to great job you're doing!

Yonathan Guttel

Thanks so much for your guides and map pointers. My wife and I had an incredible time in Prague in great part due to your recommendations. Much appreciated! Děkuju

Henry

Hi, i am in Prague 22 / 26 dec. Are the shops, musea etc closed during Christmas days?

Rene

Hey there I'm about to spent the next 6 days here in Prague following your amazing guide. Other than the two christmas market places you recommend any places that do festive things or great places for light seeing.

Jake Alonso

This is the most awesome thing on the internet, I'm so glad I found you! Do you have any maps/suggestions for kids. (e.g. best kids playgrounds or attractions)? They are aged 5 and 9 so fairly easy to entertain for short period of time! Although I suspect one of the paternoster lifts might entertain them all day. Happy to share the best things our kids enjoyed after our trip too.

Wayne

Not really, sorry, but we can recommend a few: DOX and Kunsthalle (if you're into contemporary arts) Národní galerie (I believe there are 6 of them all around Prague in just one ticket) National Museum (of course, not only because of the amazing view at the top) Muzeum Prahy - Dum U Zlateho prstenu

Honest Guide

So sorry, I completely missed this one :( I prefer Cestr to sit down (with a partner), Kantyna for more of a cafeteria vibe with friends

They're not yet here so it's hard to "rate" them! (even though CNN says so 😃 https://edition.cnn.com/best-christmas-markets-around-the-world/index.html ) But from our experience, the ones at Namesti Miru have always been great: https://www.kudyznudy.cz/akce/ceske-vanocni-trhy-na-namesti-miru Tylovo namesti (which is nearby) is also great (but much smaller) https://maps.app.goo.gl/j98UqAL5DNYRrzf5A

Hey, I have another awesome vegan/vegetarian restaurant to suggest. It's Střecha in Křemencova 7, 110 00 Nové Město, Tschechien. I went there last year with my girlfriend. They have traditional meals for Vegans and it tastes very good :)

Luca

Suggestion for your fine dining list. It is the restaurant Aromi located in Namesti Miru. We have been five times and it is excellent Italian food (made the top 100 best Italian restaurants outside of Italy list). Just a suggestion! https://maps.app.goo.gl/mq7oMCRrir6Bh9cR9

Paul Williams

There's a cool Instagram project called @prgbrut. I really recommend it I DM'ed him asking about his favorite places, he wrote me the following: "I can’t list everything, but some top picks. Kotva department store, Federal Asssembly next to National Museum, New Stage (Nová scéna), Strahov stadium and viewpoint, former hotel Intercontinental. Further from the centre Koospol building (the Cube), Centrotex at Pražského povstání. And for sure metro A stations"

Igors

Do you think a map of the christmas markets would be useful?

Yuri Ramondino

What about a map of brutalist buildings in Prague?

Any updated places in Plzen? Sadly Snilek shows as permanently closed.

It might be just me, but on iOS it only shows Lists on the map; I need to open the other Maps you created 1 by 1. Is there a way to convert all of your Maps into Lists, so we can see all of them on the map itself without opening them 1 by 1? I am sorry if it only bothers me :D

Gábor Kertész

Will be in Prague for our second visit from UK next weekend to see Dream Theatre and have also booked tickets to an ice hockey match 😊 Thanks to your brilliant videos and maps we have planned to visit lots of your recommended places to eat (and drink 🍺)

Pobble

Omg I found this at exactly the right time. We will be in Prague from friday to tuesday for the Immimence concert. Somehow I managed to find some of the good ones by myself, but most of my list was very touristy places 😅 I cant thank you enough! Also, quick question are the steaks better in Kantyna or Čestr? You can eat only so many😭

Aušrinė Julija

Hey, is there a map with recommended museums? Thank you.

Hey guys, I just discovered that the 119 bus from airport to metro is now numbered 59. I don’t know if you know or not, but I thought I would mention it. I’m in Prague on Monday. I will look out for you 😄

Pennie Sandell

I just got here yesterday and have been using the maps nonstop. The food and the beer have been phenomenal! Thank you guys so much for compiling all this info. I think my buddy and I walked around 8 miles all over Prague and even used the trams inbetween that. Quick side note also super thankful I found your videos because I was in Berlin for 5 days never once got my transit pass checked. I was in Prague for 45 minutes and got mine checked. The guy was super nice though and spoke REALLY good English. I accidentally showed him my luggage pass first and he helped me figure out what was wrong and ended up pulling up the right pass I already bought.

Alex Matier

Where are ,,podchody''? In which map? Thanks

Veronica Petrik

Just arrived at Na Kopci. This seems to be fine dining! They are very helpful offering me a table despite not having a reservation. Meal was fantastic and the server, Jiri, was so friendly and helpful (also was gracious and accommodating by speaking English). Thanks for the recommendation!

Lucia Kubik

We just came back home from Prague and we liked it a lot! Thanks to your guides we had an amazing time. We didn't see you guys but we did see some of the scammers you made youtube videos about. We went to Paris and other city's but Prague for us topped those and really surprised us in a positive way and is in our hearts, we will definitely come back♥️

Ralf Schilders

Locking forward to explore everthing outside the "tourist" center. appricate everything outside of old town. a "neighbour" series would be great to explore greater prague wlaking :-)

Daniel Koening

Thank you so much and thanks for the feedback on the Klub U Techniku, we'll go check it out!

Honest Guide

Gents - many thanks for your videos and maps. We just had a great few days walking around Prague and hopping between your recommended sites. Had the pleasure of encountering one of your ATM scams. We wanted to get a small amount of cash out and I immediately had a guy offering to break my 1000 into two 500s. It was at these ATMs (https://maps.app.goo.gl/7SRrnaA1gsqEq5kZ7) but we also saw him working the ATMs here later that day (Spálená 51, 110 00 Nové Město, Czechia). Of course we knew to walk away thanks to your videos.👍

Derrick Oracki

1st day in Prague today and it was great with the help of your maps 👍 Had amazing Chlebicek at Sisters (so good!!) Had lunch at Klub Tecniku but with no view (now it’s only for groups). So many nice things and great coffee at the train station. The transport system is great with the PID app. Great thanks to you both!! Díky 👌

Viktor de Vilhegas

Thank you for showing us the stag moat route to the castle. A bit challenging, but very tranquil. And you are right, the few people you see are Czech people :)

Barry van Zutphen

Hi Janek and Honza, sadly leaving Prague after 8 days but thanks to your maps and recommendations we managed to find many cafes and things to do. Would definitely recommend everyone follows their advice and enters the castle through the 'deer moat'. Wonderful walk from our hotel beside Old Town Square up through Lesser Town to Deer Moat and finally the castle. Would also recommend Staropraska Galerie coffee shop for lovely coffees, drinks and great, friendly staff and the fantastic food and service at U Dvou Kocek. Both of these places are moments from Old Town Square but feel very 'Czech'. Thanks once again Honest Guide. We'll be back.

Pat

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for any issues! We'll try to get our vegan friends to help us pick some great places (I know one opened up quite recently, Janek went therr a couple of times but when he took me there to film it, it was closed - ups). Just in case, the name of the place is Green Table near Masarykovo nadrazi: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NBkBuCCTNpyUp2XbA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

We are just leaving Prague and the maps and walking to the spots made us discover so much Parlour is definitely a must visit even if you don’t drink alcohol you’ll find something there A vegan list And some activities would be nice too Unfortunately most places weren’t able to leave away milk or butter even though we had some allergies So a bit of research was needed

Robin

Thanks Zach! Nice to hear it’s your favorite. I’m staying at the Unitas hotel which looks to be no more than a 5 minute walk.

Thanks Zach! Nice to hear it’s your favorite. I’m staying at the Unitas hotel which looks to be no more than a 5 minute walk.

it’s my favorite bar in all of prague.. highly recommend, truly one of a kind!

Zach Volpo

I’m curious to find out if Janek or Honza have ever been to Vzorkovna Dog Bar on Narodni. It is right down the street from the hotel I will be staying at. I would like to get your impression of this bar

Stephen

Děkuju Janek a Honza! Me and my wife just had our honeymoon in Prague, she is czech. And the maps were very helpful to make our experience enjoyable and navigate the city easily. And with amazing czech food. Díky moc Uvidíme s Portugalsko!

Thanks for the maps, can't believe I ran into Janek on my first ever trip to Prague and the very first day and on Charles Bridge. Thanks for the photo. The maps were a great help navigating places and trying Lokal, 420, etc. Hope to visit Prague again soon. The 14+ hours flight was well worth it haha.

Gerald Li

Sorry I don't know anywhere else to post this but we should have a Honest Guide Discord Server.

Patrick Fannin

Thank you so much for the map it has helped a lot. I am here with my fiance and our two-year-old daughter. We liked the center but were so happy we had some pointers. We ate at Hospůdka U TŘÍ SEKYREK. And ice cream at Gelato 43. It was a night worth remembering! 🥰

Timo

This one by the city - https://prague.eu/en/prague-visitor-pass/ - is probably the one we'd feel most comfortable recommending. If you plan properly, you can really, really take an advantage of it (the Jewish quarter, Prague Castle, public transport, Prague towers etc.)

We are currently already here, departing tomorrow and worrying about the same question but in the other direction 😅 At this point from what I've read so far it looks like everything regarding train traffic is still going as normal, ČD stated something about delays and possible complications on their website but there has been no report of actually compromised infrastructure so far from what I've read. I read an article which stated that the peak level of the Vltava river is expected this night, after that it is supposed to decrease. Here's what I read recently https://praguemorning.cz/vltava-river-expected-to-peak-at-flood-stage-on-saturday-night/ Greetings from Karlín 🍻

Dennis Erichson

Hello Janek and Honza, thank you so much for all your work! We've spent an entire week here and it was absolutely amazing (even though the weather went downhill the past days), your maps helped us so very much! And it was also nice to run into you Janek (we just briefly said hello close to the Karluv Most on Tuesday since you were busy with someone else). I wanted to give one short hint regarding recycling ♻️ stations: When we were at the Metro Station Florenc, we spotted yet another station on the opposite side than Sokolovská Street when you go through the Line C entrance hall. I think it did show on the regular google maps for me once, however it wasn't included in your recycling map yet ✌🏼 So thank you once again and we wish you all the best, maybe next time we'll run into you again!

Dennis Erichson

Hey, we are looking foreward to our Trip next Week. But german media is getting me a little worried. Do you have any thoughts about the weather? Do you think the high waters will be an issue? We are traveling from Germany via train and do not know if the train tracks or the city could be affacted by the rain. I know that the media likes to paint it black as much as possible… do you have any thoughts?

Claudia Söllner

Maybe there is a slight confusion, certain map links don't open directly in the android maps app and are opened in a browser view without the current gps location marked. Just click on the icon in the top right corner to open that map in the maps app.

Matthias Löffel

hi guys - I'm here now and traveling alone. I love to eat at the bar, where I can potentially meet people to talk with. I'm finding a lot of places do not have seating at the bar where you can eat a meal or a snack. Do you have any suggestions on where to go? I am staying near old town square. Thank you!

Gisele Duprez

Thank you! I have already arrived. I will keep an eye out for you both on the streets

Keep up the great work!!

Hi Janek, that’s is what I was expecting, so apologies in advance for that silly question, but I cannot see the blue dot on my google maps….

Rupen Shah

Hi there! Yes most certainly. Simply open the map and you are the blue dot (as you may be used to from other apps). You can also sort the list of places based on distance from you. Hope this helped :) Janek

Honest Guide

Hi, is there a way to see where I am live in relation to the maps you have created?

Hello guys, i love your work! I am a 44 year old single coming to Prague this weekend. What are the best places to meet single laidies?

Erik

Thank you lovely people 🙏

Pennie Sandell

These maps have been so useful to me! I am visiting Prague on my own for the first time yet I feel like I'm a savvy local who knows all the good places with it (which couldn't be further from the truth I have no idea what I'm doing XD)

Otis

Hey you two, Just wanted to leave a quick hello from me and my husband. We are visiting prague every year in the late summer. This will be our 13 Trip, I think. I wonder why I found your channel just recently. And I am so glad I did. Your content is very entertaining and we learn about some cool new places. Of course, as vegetarians we already knew about the little balcony with the great view to the castle. Fun fact: last year we went to prague and saw the new starbucks… also a nice view of the city. A few days later we went to see blink182 in Berlin. And what did Mark Talk about?! His walk up to the prague Castle and that „freaking starbucks“. Maybe we run into you, would like to buy you guys a coffee. Prague amazes us every time, this year it will be the tim Burton exhibition, that is just Long enough in town so that we can see it. Last year they showed Oppenheim long enough for us to watch it and we had two nice evennings with „die erzählerei“ (just google it, cool dude) i could go on forever. „Dieses mutterchen hat krallen“ Greetings

Claudia Söllner

We just came home from our first Prague vacation. Thanks for the tip about Restaurace Hybernska - it was amazing (we met you and Honza at the Powder Tower - big guy, white shirt, beard). Your maps really turned our trip from tourist herding to a nice, rounded Trip of one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Thank You!

Martin Bummel

It's been a long time since we last visited but we made this video about it: https://youtu.be/7rYZGKlHnwM The official website where to buy the train tickets is https://cd.cz/ There, you can simply walk. A lot of new cool cafes popped up and we've heard great things about this place: https://maps.app.goo.gl/qG9vJmpNhSpVrovYA

We made a video about it a while ago but the places still stand - U Maleho Glenna or Jazz Dock are still amongst are favourites: BEST (and free) LIVE MUSIC in PRAGUE (Honest Guide) https://youtu.be/vgKHKO1-Zn8 Lucerna Music Bar and Roxy are also cool venues, check out their schedule for the days you're in the city. Malostranska beseda might host some Czech artists if that's something you'd like to try!

Honest Guide

Mapycz doesn't allow notes to the pinned venues (at least for now) which is one of the most important thing for us. However, we turned "50 things to do in Prague" for you on mapycz: https://mapy.cz/s/jecehuguta We'll try to add more as soon as they roll out new features

Honest Guide

would it be possible to create maps also for mapy.cz app from seznam? Google maps doesn't support cyclists in cz and many of those places are perfect for bike rides. please? :)

Thank you very much. Headed there now. Y’all are the biggest help in Prague

Have you ever done a map or video on live music in Prague? Not big concerts, just bars or cafes with music. That would be great. I’ll be there in 2 months! Excited!

John Dillon

Hi Janek/Honza! I can really recommend the Zasekávák cafe in Dejvice! Really cute coffee place with a nice garden!

Jesse De Jong

Happy it works!!! Thanks!!!

Honest Guide

Hey thanks for your quick reply. I tried about 10 times and afterwards it succeeded. I guess it is an google maps bug. Thank you once more and sorry for bothering. 😊

Mateo Batagelj

Hey Ludovico! Alza.cz is somewhat of a Czech amazon (sort of). You can use amazon.de to order to the Czech Republic without a problem. Your best choice might be a shopping mall where you get all these shops under one roof - for example OC Novy Smichov https://maps.app.goo.gl/7bPow5Zg2p653Abn9 (just be prepared it's extremely packed on the weekends - so don't go there if you need to escape crowds of tourists in the city centre) However, still in the city centre - the whole street of Na Prikope has multiple of shops with clothes https://maps.app.goo.gl/tbVUShysvXzJ1mWf8 Same goes for Wenceslas square For groceries, we can recommend Tesco at Národní třída https://maps.app.goo.gl/cQsvbLJwneQ2FebT7 or Lidl on the above mentioned Na Prikope Hope this helps!

Honest Guide

Hey Gina! You can either show your ID (if you're from the EU) or passport. You can check out the website in English here: https://pid.cz/en/discounts/#senior-65 And yes! Pepsi (and Pepsi Max + some other choices like Lime and Mango) are widely available in most of the shops (in the city centre, we can definitely recommend Tesco at Národní - https://maps.app.goo.gl/366QGYmvM6aUv6Ty9 ). Btw. I also prefer Pepsi over Coke so your question was definitely on point! :)

Honest Guide

Sorry about that! Tried just now, it works for me - patreon app, iphone. What device are you using? And do you use the patron app or the web? Thanks! Hopefully we can figure that one out!

Honest Guide

Hey hey. 50 things to do in Prague isn't working 🥺

Mateo Batagelj

I will be staying in Prague for 4 days in September. I have questions for you (the most important is the last one lol): Is there a particular procedure to be followed in order to ride public transport for free if over age 65 or would I just walk on and ride unless specifically asked for proof of age? Also, is Pepsi easy to find at a grocery store and is it carried in convenience stores? Thank you in advance for your response and for your entertaining and informative videos!

Gina Waltemate

Hi, when in Prague it happens that you may need everyday items like electronics (power banks, charging cables, phones), clothes (aka your luggage is lost) or household items (aka your airbnb is terrible) etc. could you make a map where you recommend where to go to buy these products. Also, what do you use in the Czech Republic instead of Amazon? Thanks a lot!

Ludovico

Hi! I'm travelling to Prague in September. Could you give suggestions for grocery shops near st. Havel's residence?

Armas Kastegren

Thank you so much for the reply.

CharlieRam

Aaa, this is a fun one! Let me first start with the kinds of soups to look for (at least those that I enjoy - gulášová polévka, česneková polévka, rajčatová polévka, hovězí vývar). You can get a soup at pretty much any restaurant, though the choice might be limited. Most of the restaurants also have a "soup of the day" at a better price during lunch time (usually 11am-2pm). For these, just ask around. A soup-dedicated places are a rare find as we generally have them as sort of an appetizers. But I remember this one from Karlín (walk pasted by many times, haven't been there myself but wouldn't hesitate to give it a try) -- https://maps.app.goo.gl/V3t5AatDUAJyDS147 If by any chances you'd travel to Ceske Budejovice (we have a couple of videos from there, it's 90-minute train ride from Prague), there's a place called Soupculture where they sell soups in a cup you can later eat. The link to the place is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/E9NQozxHemQ1rXmR8 Most of the places in our maps will have soup so let me mention a few - Havelská koruna (budget option), Mincovna (mid-range), Café Imperial ($$, reservation recommended - but their cibulačka /onion soup/ with cheese is the next level). Hope this helps, dobrou chuť!

Honest Guide

Hey Giampaolo!! Thank you so very much!!! Hope you'll have a fantastic time here (at this point, I'm pretty sure you will)! We'll keep our eyes open in the streets, maybe we'll run into you! Best regards to your daughter and enjoy! Ahoj!

UPDATE: video on how to use the maps to get the most out of it >> https://youtu.be/Mn5zJnHgrss Watch this if you're unsure how to use the maps. Thank you all for your support. It makes us really happy that you're enjoying the maps out there. We'll keep updating them as much as possible with new finds!

Honest Guide

Thanks so much for this! I was here 6.5 years ago and my memory is poor so it will almost be like going to a new place again. I'll check out Kunsthalle at the very least as it's the most affordable for me, and if I have time I'll go to the National Gallery! (Went to DOX last time)

Nicole Joyce

Hello Janek and Honza I've been following your YouTube channel since years and decide to subscribe to patron to get your guide and to thank you for the great work you're doing. I'll be in Prague from 16th to 22nd August with my daughter to show her this beautiful city hope I could find you around . Ciao

Giampaolo Andriolo

Thanks for the links, yeah I'm making a list of several styles of food in Prague for us to try and my other people traveling with me wanted bbq haha.

Ralf Schilders

hello, just wanted to thank you. though , me and my friends are coming in november to prague and all of us love soup. do you know any nice soup places ?

CharlieRam

If it's your first time, I'd say walking around is good enough - there's truly a ton of it (always look up, even houses have a special signs, there's art in metro stations etc.). But if you're really, really an artsy person, Kunsthalle or DOX might be a great choice. If you're more into classical, the National Gallery at Veletržní palác is amazing >> https://maps.app.goo.gl/nZX6cYDccdGivLLM7 (Monet, Picasso etc. with literally no one around)

Honest Guide

I know Big Smokers usually gets a lot of praise - been once and liked it (but wouldn't considered that a-must have in Prague, but if you're into it, check it out >> https://maps.app.goo.gl/fSV8D1cihn5VochD8 We've been here once with Janek >> https://maps.app.goo.gl/Gwtw3tN7PrdDVCdt9 << and loved it, take a look at this one as well

Honest Guide

We are into barbeque, brisket for example/burned ends etc, I saw a barbeque restaurant mentioned above, are there more bbq restaurants worth visiting in Prague?

Ralf Schilders

I don't know if this is a silly question but with all of the beautiful architecture, statues etc around Prague is it actually worth going to a museum/gallery? I'll be in Prague for 3 days and I might visit a museum or 2 but it almost seems like I'd get just as much value from simply walking around.

Nicole Joyce

Just updated the "Hidden gems" map for another one, that is opened to public. It's inside the passage "U Novaků". Here's the exact pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fWeGwneuu7zoK66TA Janek

Honest Guide

The 2 on the map seem to be closed for now. We did find one open. 50°4'49,4"N, 14°25'27,8"E

Antoine Bellon

Thank you very much for the tips! Currently in Prague and enjoying the recommendations. However, the paternoster map seems to not work for me right now.

Efstratios Avramidis

Thank you very much for the hard work! The maps and walks are great! We went to the Ymca to see the parernoster, unfortunately it seems to be closed 😢. Are there any other then the one in the Dvorak museum? A great addition to the maps, would be "fountains with drinkable water"...

Antoine Bellon

Just a quick update - there are some new maps, for example, "BEST ICE-CREAM" or the most-requested "TOURIST TRAPS" (please only head out to those to take a #scamfie 🙃) Also, we've updated all the maps into lists - it should be easier for you to navigate through them as you can sort the places nearest to you, and see photos, reviews etc. To view the notes from us, please make sure you click "Join" when you open the list. Thank you for your support and feedback, we absolutely love the fact that the maps are helping you all over Prague 💛

Honest Guide

Thanks👍

Jannik

hahah, I love the last sentence in particular 😃 Anyway, here are some tips we enjoyed in Ostrava last year - https://maps.app.goo.gl/tGjmUKe3wRSAJ4bv8 Hope this helps! Honza

Honest Guide

I'd really like to see a map/video about Ostrava, I'm going there in 2 weeks (after some days in Prague, České Budějovice and Plzeň), but couldn't really find much information on what to do there. I know that even if you decide to make a video about it it'd never be finished before I go there😂 But still, would be interesting to get some more information about the third biggest city in the Czech Republic. Also thanks a lot for your videos and Maps, it'll help us a lot finding good places and avoiding tourist traps😅 At this point I know more good places in Prague than in my own city😂

Jannik

Gaunt, we made the new maps and it should be updated by now. Use the new link please :) Janek

Honest Guide

Unfortunately the Lahůdky Zlatý kříž is apparently closed. Not your fault, but it might be a good idea to kick it off the Chlebicky map.

Gaunt87

Dziękuję ci bardzo Janek! Will go have a look what to take back to Poland. Janek (from South Africa)

Hansie Swart

your wish is my command! My gf helped me a little to add some jewelry shops, I added the weird quirky ones :) https://maps.app.goo.gl/bjYpL83LsKCdDhwR9 Also, we switched to "list" maps on google, to make it better for you, hopefully, it helps. Janek

Unfortunately, they are closed for the summer till August 15th. But you just gotta love their explanation - "we're all taking care of our grandchildren or going to spas..." 💛 https://www.facebook.com/elpidaproseniory/posts/pfbid02zu4CQcb6nefzmLb3rF8MMFskGjDdFzyxC5MQ94Fc5GJVG16Eqdgm439H8VG3YnBSl

I saw that as we walked by, might give it a try if we're over there again before we leave. We've got a couple days left. I was thinking of going there for the grandma Cafe place, but Google maps says they are completely closed now

Right next to Sunflower is my all-time favourite Vietnamese bistro so try this one out!!! https://maps.app.goo.gl/7dWuUbA9GQwj4Hmi8 (their marinated pho is... I don't have words for it!!!!)

Honest Guide

Went over to Andel station to try Sunflower as we wanted Pho ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/qb767b8i6HNwDCKG7). Very disappointing, don't recommend. But on the plus side, Manifesto ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/oYSRGg8fS8k8y63q9) was great. The American BBQ in there was really good, and the wings almost perfect (https://maps.app.goo.gl/aZ2vQWNPGyH6yfWM6). I grew up near Buffalo, NY so I'm pretty picky when a menu says buffalo wings, but these were good. Update: We went back as there is a Korean place inside and my wife (who's Korean) wanted to try it. She recommends it, Bab;ryze is the name. They have a full restaurant elsewhere, which is likely as good.

Joseph Monk

Awesome, so far no issues. Just had lunch, very good but now my wife wants to find the best goulash (it's her favorite). She just had some at U Rudolfina and loved it.

Joseph Monk

Parking in the centre is too vast, hard to say, almost any street is different, sorry. You can park for free in Prague 5 or 6 Sat-Sun. Download the app "mapy cz" you can easily check out parking in your area, pay by phone etc

Honest Guide

Hahah. You're absolutely fine almost everywhere with your dog (execpt the cat cafe etc but who'd go there anyway, right? #teamdogperson ). In 99 % places you're absolutely fine and they will usually even have a bowl with water for your loved dog as well

Honest Guide

Depends on the time you went but yes, it closes at certain times (different ones in summer and in winter). Please watch more about it here in our video https://youtu.be/1HnQTKYEZvs

Honest Guide

Yes, unfortunately!

Honest Guide

Thank you, Magda! :)

Honest Guide

Hello, I booked a hotel in the Prague center but when asked about car parking options, received stunning answer - "the car parking situation around the hotel is a little challenging. Since the hotel is near the traffic, you may find finding a parking spot hard. And the final question, it would take you approximately about 35 minutes of walking" - are there any suggestions, more detailed information regarding car parking (Friday to Sunday) in the center? Thank you!

Dāvis79

Drove in earlier this evening, should be off in the morning to explore with some of your suggestions. One thing I should know first, but how dog friendly is Prague? We have a small lap dog with us. If I have to sit and have a beer while my wife goes in some touristy place ... Well that would just be terrible, wouldn't it.

Joseph Monk

Anyone tried restaurant mustek? (With a party that want to eat here). Looks very expensive compared to some of the ones recommended here that we have loved.

Ian Marshall

Hi there, i have the same problem, some of your maps just do not open, 101 is one of them. in google maps i go to 'saved' - 'maps' and tap on 101. just says "couldn't open map".

Thomas Kern

Deer moat trail - this was a challenge today. Tried the get to the trailhead from the north two different ways. No sidewalk, no easy way to cross. There was a barrier across a dirt path that looked promising. Tried from the south and discovered that too was a dead end. Turns out the gates are closed anyway. Perhaps the secret got out and it became a problem?

Eosphotog

The Paternoster at the YMCA was not operating. Not sure if it was because it was a Sunday?

Eosphotog

Thanks for this answer, couldn't find the maps in the Google Maps app 😅

Andrew Ayrton

Thank you for this great content! V anglictinie a v cestine :) Je to hezky!

We tried U Zaludu but they said they don't serve food. Maybe it was a bad time. We'll try Lokal U Bile kuzelky tomorrow

Can Vural

U Zaludu for sure !!!https://maps.app.goo.gl/f6UPQBevnxPzaGdv9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy Lokal U Bile kuzelky https://maps.app.goo.gl/qWAaqzFPLxv2dRsy7?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy Both will have it. U Zaludu is a great "village style" pub, Lokal is a fancy one (also more pricey. Tasty but pricey). Let us know later what you thought!

Honest Guide

We are loving the maps and videos! Visited so many cool places already. Loved the kayakbar. Just one question, I love fried cheese but did not see any recommendations for it. Is there a best place to eat it?

Can Vural

Thanks a lot for all! Please go visit other cities in EU, i need other maps! :D

Pier

Thank you Pier so much for the feedback!! Happy you approve of Lasagneria as we mentioned it in this video > Prague Food Tour - Best Rated Restaurants https://youtu.be/HY27E_S4HjM We'll add it to the map as well ! The ducks... meh, it's just a touristy-bullshit trend you'll see everywhere you go now, it didn't start in Prague or anything, we're just "another city" where the ducks attack. And with the food - you're absolutely right. There was a longrunning joke (but not really a joke) about the only vegetarian options in restaurants - the fried cheese (often fried together with ham. Yeah, ham, go figure😃) My favourite is "bramborové placky" but iťs very hard to find - try for example Brambory on Pankrác (quite far from the city centre but well worth the trip)

Honest Guide

Thank you so much!!! Absolutely appreciate it💛

Honest Guide

Thanks so much for everything you do. We are visiting in a couple of weeks and feel well prepared to seek out the cool and unusual off the beaten path while enjoying true local foods without falling into tourist traps!

Eosphotog

Hi guys, i went in Prague for 4 days and thank to you and your maps it was awesome! We drove around like crazy to see everything, but thanks to public transport we were able to see everything in a short time and without walking too many kilometres. It was all spectacular just like you said! I have taken full advantage of many of your maps, and I would like to leave you with a few annotations here: 1 - mention the zoo; 6 hours are not enough to see it all and the cost of the ticket is ridiculous, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen 2 - I did my best to try (as an Italian) all your typical dishes, which are delicious, but how can you only eat meat? :D I would have liked to try something else, but 90% of the menus were just meat! 3 - why is the center of Prague full of shops selling "ducks"? Is there some inside joke that I didn't catch? 4- can I suggest a place to eat after all your advice? "lasagneria" in Prague2, cheap and really good. Approved by an Italian. Thanks for all!

Pier

The Prague 101 map does not open for me :(

Max

Hey Krishna! Thanks for the feedback and sorry for your experience. Last time we've been there in March and had no problem at all (actually really loved it). Best Honza

Honest Guide

Hey Krishna, absolutely! Not sure if you have the Patreon app or use the mobile version, but once the map is loaded, you can locate it in your Google Maps app in "Saved", scroll to the bottom to "Maps" (on the right) and you should be able to load it from there. Let me know if it worked for you but yes, all the maps are created in a way so they work in Google Maps app. Best Honza

Honest Guide

Just had lunch at las adelitas, i have to say it was one of the worst Mexican meal. Not worth to be part of your list. Please recheck once, probably quality deteriorated after you visited

Is there a video / description for the places along Nusle —> Náplavka (hidden gems to waterfront) ?

Eosphotog

Hey! Some of your maps are broken - for example, I get "could not open map" for the interesting dining one!

Andis Jurjans

Hi guys! I'll be in Prague in the middle of June, what site do you suggest for forecast? i thin there'll be some rain... Do you have some tips for suits? Thanks a lot!

Pier

I was having a similar issue when I launched the map from within the Patreon app. If I open the maps directly in Google I have no issues.

Warren Frank

I would be interested in one for Litomysl, but that's largely because I'm trying to decide whether to drag my family out there during our relatively short stay in Prague.

Randall Hauk

A guided walking tour is my top priority on visiting a new city. However, often the tours are crowded and it would be nice to do it on my own with a walking audio guide instead. That way I can do it in the early morning. Rick Steves has a few of these on his app and they are well produced and take about an hour each. Perhaps you might consider making something similar but current. Thanks!

BIGmog

This might be your best choice: https://maps.app.goo.gl/z3TGVqLLjhXqZRE6A?g_st=ic 🙂 enjoy! PS - it's part of the hidden gems map, you can check that one for other cool venues

Honest Guide

Would be nice to get some icons on the map, so we know what it is :-) As for me, I have no idea what 'Hladový Vokno' is he he

Instant Pirate

Are there any paternoster lifts open in Prague . We have been to some and they are closed .

Justin Fishwick

Hey Justin! Not sure if this is what you mean but I'll try - Once you click on the specific place, there is a description why we're suggesting the place. However, then you need to click "back" (the arrow next to the search bar) in order to keep the description for the places. I'm sorry for any trouble, this is just how it works on the Google Maps :/ Please see it here: https://ibb.co/Qf9vtxq But all the maps are created in the Google Maps interface as if you're in Prague, you can actually see your current location and what places is nearby. Let me know if this helps or if it was something else! Best Honza

Thanks for reaching out! I'm on Android, and when I try to open it just says "impossible to open map". All the other maps are working fine on my side.

Florian

Hey Florian, sorry about the trouble! Both works for me even in incognito mode on my phone and computer so they should be OK to access. Can you please let me know what device you're on and maybe what's the "error line" you're getting? Thanks and sorry about the trouble! Honza

Hi! Thanks for the maps! We are going to Prague today for a small week, I know they will be very helpful. However it seems I can't access this one, and also the fine/interesting dining one.

Deepovic, I have updated the Exchange map, so it should be more accurate. Sometimes they change ownerships fast. If you ever change at bad rate, you always have 3 hours (our law) to get the money back. On U fleku note... It is touristy, but I wouldn't call it a tourist trap. Just very very touristy :)

Honest Guide

Update to the exchange at Husova 18. Maybe they have changed ownership… Exchange rate for 1€ was about 20CZK, while anywhere else it was 1:25. Unfortunately we only noticed after exchanging. On another note - what do you think about „U Fleku“?

Deepovic

Brilliant, thank you!

Thank you for all this invaluable content! My wife and I are visiting your fine city for the 2nd time this coming week. Are there any cocktail bars that you can recommend? Thanks!

We've once filmed an episode there, but even I have trouble finding it! Proving the point that the maps can be really useful (I'm happy for it). We'll go double-check everything and add it to the map. Thanks for your help! This community is just... 💛

Honest Guide

I've found a gem. It's a café named Choco café. You can eat there for less than 10e (ar. 200czk last time I think) with a quiche, a cake and a hot chocolate. I recommand trying one time the hot chocolate but do not try the most tasty ones. For all hot chocolates it's an entire chocolate tablet melted. So the taste is "special". I prefer taking the hot chocolate with whipped cream which is easier to drink. The cake are just the best I ate in a café especially at this price. It should fit well in the café map. Also they have two places, one in Prague 1 and one under the castle.

Phileas Curtil

Thanks for the update! Guess they hiked prices for the season, sorry about that. We'll try to think of some alternatives. It's difficult though! Unfortunately, there are really no "normal" rooftops in Prague left. Always with some kind of a "trap" (Duplex, Hotel Pytloun, Teras U Prince) 😕 City towers remain still the best place to enjoy the view - our all time favorite: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vxFJN1QgckPAL8336?g_st=ic

Glass Bar now charges 150ck to go outside on the view deck and is no longer included with a beer. A small bottle of beer was 95ck. Can no longer recommend it for the Beer/Rooftop maps.

I have been watching the videos for so long now and just arrived in Prague. All the knowledge from the videos really saved me time to see the important and beautiful places.

Thank you for that. Much appreciated.

Hey Jessica! Honestly, we're not really big fans of those but we're definitely biased here (they break the law selling the cruise etc). We rented a speedboat couple of times and that was a lot of fun: https://youtu.be/na6lDN1ANGs

Do you have a video that talks about river cruises in Prague at all? Good, no good, rip off, etc. We have friends that did a lunch/beer cruise and loved it but wondered if you have any recommendations for them. Love all your content as we prepare for Prague in September. Thank you!

Today we fly back to the UK, 9 days in Prague, Brno & around Czechia have been wonderful. We went to many bars and places you've recommended. Have you been to Macocha Abyss? https://g.co/kgs/Vbz9Ht4 It's one of the weirdest, most incredible things we've ever seen. I really really recommend going.

Thomas

We didn't go, I just found it on the map looking for the train station 😁

Brian Vacha

Do you have any suggestions for uniquely Czech snacks and junk food you can just get at any grocery store?

Ryan Hass

Can't go wrong here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/zhAz2cARS7nrt4Nf8 (possibly the best butcher in Prague) or our favourite pub Lokál (it's right next to it) https://maps.app.goo.gl/4XvveJC1E6mNchX86 (they have more locations around Prague, our most favorite is the Bílá Kuželka)

Where can you eat the best sausages?

Ahaaaaaam. Okay okay I see now. Sorry, my initial thought was “I am paying for something to get and support but it does not work ?? No way thats it, as it would be so ironic due to the channels topic / theme😂” But okay i see now and its fine a bit more hustle bit its okay. Uf if only Mapy CZ would have some functionality with this 😏

Hey Luka! Once you click the place, there is a description why we're suggesting the place. ALL places should have this but if you found some that doesn't have it, please let me know so we can fix it! However, then you need to click "back" (the arrow next to the search bar) in order to keep the description for the places. This is annoying, I agree, I suspect this to be some sort of Google Maps bug :/ Please see it here: https://ibb.co/Qf9vtxq But ale the maps are created in the Google Maps interface as if you're in Prague, you can actually see your current location and what places is nearby. We're definitely opened to any suggestions as we want the maps to be helpful as much as possible! I'll take a look at the Apple Maps, I'm just a bit worried other platforms (android phones and others) won't be able to open them at all.

Honest Guide

I just can see where is the place and the name. But once I click on it nothing happens nor it opens in my maps. I find this kinda useless. This is just a feedback not criticism. Maybe you can try to make something like AppleMaps link and Google Maps link and then it will open all the places in our App. Now THAT would be of real help

Hahah😃😃 made me laugh really hard! See you around!!

I'd love to see more of your favorite spots in Czechia or Slovakia that are not necessarily in metros. We love the country and have really enjoyed our adventures outside your beautiful hvalni mesto.

April Moore

Thank you for the clarification.

David

That is their "VIP Office", that moved, the old exchange office stays on the same spot and still offers one of the best rates in Prague (VIP is used for large sum transactions)

Honest Guide

Thanks! Patreon tricked us here, showing all the links to be linked properly... only to find out from the mobile app that some of them were not linked to the correct maps - all fixed now (hopefully). Thank you so much for pointing that out and sorry for the trouble!

Honest Guide

$ Change Money > Exchange.cz location has changed. And from their site: "VIP EXCHANGE OFFICE IS AT A NEW ADDRESS As of the 2nd of January 2024, the branch for currency exchange at the VIP rate has been moved from Kaprova St. 14/13, Prague 1, to a new address: Štefánikova 203/23, Praha 5 – Smíchov"

David

That issue aside, I really appreciate the maps. Very helpful information!

David

You should check each section as the malformed URL repeats.

David

You can only guess who's fault it was that the maps were set to "private" :) (janek here). Very sorry for this little hiccup, it's all set, so you can see it!

Honest Guide

I can't open the 50 things to see map :(
