Like, “hey, it’s weird that there were two Craigs yesterday, but now there’s only one of them.”

2024-05-21 06:04:29 +0000 UTCSo with characters who were never established or never show up again, I gotta believe they actually had their own sections of the book that didn't make the cut. I know someone who's been writing a similar sci-fi trilogy for decades yet refuses to take a single writing class or even watch a single writing youtube and does all the same stuff like constantly switching between 1st and 3rd person. They have written thousands and thousands of pages of every detail of every character and backstory and sidequests. Asked them the other day how the second book was coming and they said "Good, I got it down to 850 pages." There's probably a lost Anna Karenina-length section about the black hole and Oblivion Island.
