Comic Report #84.1 - Special Game Demo Surprise

Hello hello!  This has been quite a busy week for me, I'd been given an all-access pass to GDC online this week courtesy of Pixelles Montreal so I've been taking in as much information as possible.  I've gotten some comic work done but a lot of this week was given to pursuing game development.  Oh, also!  As a special bonus, Jason and I have been working hard to put out an open studio build of our game in progress.  It's open to everyone to try so I will post the link here as well: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PcjoEkz5zVpfQjICYFF12Q_oGVVJLsBX/view?usp=sharing It is open to the public until Sunday but we'll let you have a bit more time to try it out.  As a side-note: there is a feature in the Options > Credits menu that you can click to come directly to our Discord server: https://discordapp.com/invite/y3A7aHm If you try it out, come let us know what you think!  There is a readme file that comes in the download .zip, if you want an in-depth look at how the game works you can give that a read, otherwise its designed specifically for anyone to just pick it up and have a good time regardless of skill level.

Now, about the actual comic!  Whenever I draw a character I haven't drawn in a while I have to go back and check how I constructed them in previous pages.  When it's time to draw Mayor Richardson I have to remember he has Orphan Annie circle eyes and not the beady dark eyes like Lou or Amy.  When I draw Maria I never remember if I gave her eye shadow or just mascara, it turns out it's the latter.  Once I get the major value shapes back in my brain it's way easier to knock them out, but I do have to go back and do my research for consistency sake.

I'm planning on finishing up my foreground painting on this comic between tonight and tomorrow, and then I can make a background pass, get that first panel rendered and blast through all these wall shots in the rest of the comic and have this page finished by Monday.  I've said before but there's the next page coming up and then the pages after it I'm pretty excited to get finished and put online.  Thank you as always for your patient support of my work, I'll hopefully be back sooner than later with a textless finished page.  Until then, take it easy.
