Hello again! This has been a bit of a busy week for me, needing to focus on my gamedev day job work means I haven't made as much progress on the main comic as I'd like. I'll have a more substantial progress shot for next Friday, but for now I did manage to get two new minicomics drawn in between my other obligations. This week's theme was ideas I've wanted to try for a while but never got to, and since we're in the last run of strips up to 100 it's now or, well... not "never", but much later on. So let's jump straight into it!

#093: In the main comic kids can be seen here and there around Tombstone. They don't have a whole lot to do so they are usually getting up to some sort of trouble or another, and the long-term idea was for there to be some kind of organized fun program for them to come up. Here, Lizzie and Melody have put together a youth soccer league and are having fun playing with the kids. There's a mishmash of iconic Dead Winter kids here, including Jason and Jocelyn from the old apartment crew. Early on in the minicomic run Lou had hit Lizzie in the face with a football, so this strip ends up being a bit of a comeuppance.

#094: One of the ideas in my minicomic notes file has been doing a practical how-to helper guide strip themed around Lou. I've thought about doing a full brake pad change but I didn't think I could fit it into just four panels. For this page I ended up pacing it out with sketches and then dropping in the lettering to make sure all the pertinent information was being communicated. I used the custom font I made for our game to make sure the lettering is clear and legible, but that also meant I didn't need to go through and hand-letter the whole thing. If you didn't know how to change a flat tire already, leave a comment and let me know if this was actually helpful!
That's going to be it for this week. I'll have more for next week, but throughout August I'm gonna be a bit pinched for time until I get all my gamedev work obligations taken care of, and sadly those are NDA art things I can't post on here. Thank you for your kind patience! Have a nice weekend.
